  1. Damn bro I went through all of that with my 93 camaro. Still having problems with it but nothing related your sypmtoms. I ended up doing all what you did and it finally solved it. I replaced the starter, alternator and battery. the clicking of the starter is a good sign the starter probably got swollen from the heat which I've done in both my camaro and s10. If all electrical was sound before the initial problem you'll more than likely be o.k. once you replace the starter. OH and by I mean swollen it is the internals not the actual casing of the starter.
  2. IAtruche thanks for explaining a lot better detail on how to wire it up. The other way to do it is add two more pairs of 2 ohm speakers and run just one big ass four channel.
  3. First and foremost, what are you trying to do? A three-way set up is mainly to get the best reproduction of music because the difference size speakers are able to produce the correct frequency accurately. From your selection of speakers it appears the goal is to be loud and clear. Which by all means is hard to do as well. To make the components you selected fit you'll have to make some modifications I assume. I'd recommend going with a bigger mid-bass driver if you can do 8's,do it if not 6.5's will work just as well. 5.5's are just a little on the small side for a mid bass and a little on the big size for a dedicated midrange (but can work). I like your selection of size for the 3" and those tweeters should SCREAM!!! The Hoopty and Steve's Hoe are designed to be loud and clear and was achieved with multiple 2-way 6.5 components and a 10" sub in each door. I and many SQ guys run 3-way set ups in their vehicles and use active crossovers which I recommend as well. Any "cheap" 3-way crossover would work to get you started but you'll need to dedicate an amp/channel per speakers, an amp for tweeters, an amp for midrange and an amp for midbass. I hope this was helpful.
  4. two 4 channel amps would work as well. Most 4 channels put out more power at 2 ohms. The THD is a litte higher but, seeing how the idea is to be loud THD is not that big a factor in this application. One four channel for the Front speakers and Front Door. The other Four channel for the Rear speakers and Rear Door. So one pair of channels will see a 4ohm load and the other pair will see a 2 ohm load per amp.
  5. Not many man would consider a pair of tweeters and some coax 5x7's as a "banging front stage". But to help you out bro those Kapaa will get loud and scream at you. Not sure they will be able to take the constant blaring all day long they would have to do to keep up with the subs. Good Luck Man.
  6. http://realestate.yahoo.com/promo/americas-dirtiest-cities.html HOPEFULLY THE LINK WORKS.
  7. Skittle speak it the truth, if Alpine saw this thread he would "LMFAO". I've seen Alpine recone speakers in 15 minutes. NO Bull shit. If you don't have an electric grinder try to borrow or rent one and purchase the flap disk. DON'T FORGET TO MASK/TAPE OFF THE POLE PIECE SO NO CRAP GETS IN THERE!!!!
  8. Rusty going to come back out to the lanes and some shows? I guess the real question is are you going to be making the trip to Vegas? If so, both the CRX and Van coming? Man if Carlos could see this van now. LOL
  9. I believe in let your actions in the lane do all the talking for you. I've been asked again and again why I have competed in db Drag. What a lot of people don't realize is that it is one of the few organizations that actually tracks stats back that far. There has been a lot that have been missed place for numerous reasons but, for the most there is a record. Now I've competed in USACi, IASACA and now tryed MECA and must say they all have there ups and downs but, dB DRag is by far the one with the most robust online community and stats pages. I can relate to those Circuit City shows proof below: STILL BRAND NEW....LOL
  10. www.teambassick.com It is fairly dead right now.
  11. If you got that from the SonicFX website better double check the year. As far as my resources tell me there is nothing locked up for the next dB Drag event.
  12. :clapping: :clapping: I forgot about all the Yota's..... making me home sick
  13. Well I can't really say its the alarm but, the remote. However, the damn alarm is useless without the remote and thats why I said alarm acting up. I have an older G4 Clifford in my Silverado and if anyone knows me i'm pretty old school with my equipment. The alarm was barely put in last year for the first time, I also added smart windows and the alarm had a built in remote start system. Now the smart windows auto roll down feature still works because my windows can go up and down with one touch of the switch. The remotes start worked this morning and then I disarmed the vehicle and jumped in. Once I got to my destination I shut it down and closed the doors. The remote did not arm the vehicle. I am going to try to reprogram the remote and hope that is the problem but, with the remote start (truck is diesel) and with the smart windows I may have to program it all again. Either way I am not looking foward to it. If I have to replace it all does are the new clifford alarms compatible with the smart windows IV? I know a lot of the new alarms the remote start is built in. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks.
  14. I like the idea and support anything thats going to grow our hobby/sport. I am just wondering about the technical stuff. I assume it will be using a TL and if that is the case will this be another format on the TL software?
  15. Just a suggestion. Instead of using the Bass Race format use the Psyclone format to measure this. That way the music is playing and then you start the meter, the TL will do 30 seconds and shut off. It will record all the competitors, there db and their frequency and its on average over 30 seconds. I love this idea and I'm sure it would fun to see. Good Luck.
  16. Well Said Bro and welcome to SMD.
  17. We're trying to a get a show together in the bay but, its hard. Hopefully Doug can get something together for 4th of July.
  18. dB Drag event at a Strip Club. It sounds fucking cool but, I can see the moral card getting played by some people. If I could make it I would, for the Beer of course. LMAO!!!!
  19. M.E.C.A. or dB Drag.....the choice of two of evils.

  20. It is the week of the show and nothing? Well hopefully we have some locals show up to the Salinas show. The Hayward show looks to be promising.....
  21. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/74731-meca-hayward-ca-may-1st/ http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/75543-may-2nd-1x-db-dragracing-event-audio-connection-in-salinas/ I know I plan on being at both events. If your coming up or down to one might as well come for both and make a weekend of it if you can. This hopefully will be the first of a couple back to back events. M.E.C.A. and dB Drag have different classes then the other but, both are fun to do. Even if you never competed before or just curious about it all stop the either shows and check it out.
  22. PM Kimo for details if you are interested in a show somewhere in cali sometime this year.
  23. So lets get some details straight. Any organization? Organzation Season or Calendar Season? number of shows or % of season of shows. It should be based on a fair fact across the board. maybe a 5-10 show minimum patricipation or something. Just ideas man. esepcially if this going to be a big event. For those of us who run DC and consider them part of Team DC (official or unofficial) well always be willing to represent for DC Audio. As for myself I'll be posting event details when we declare what calendar we are using......
