Dc Batterys Anyone Interested?
Team Bassick - Kimo replied to WCA Rusty's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
Do these need a trickle charge too? I'm looking at getting two batteries for Street C. I just hope the rules don't change. PM with any suggestions. -

The New CDC Alert... The Center for Disease Control has issued a medical alert about a highly contagious, potentially dangerous virus that is transmitted orally, by hand, and even electronically. This virus is called Weary Overload Recreational Killer (WORK). If you receive WORK from your boss, any of your colleagues or anyone else via any means whatsoever - DO NOT TOUCH IT. This virus will wipe out your private life completely. If you should come into contact with WORK you should immediately leave the premises. Take two good friends to the nearest grocery store and purchase one or both of the antidotes - Work Isolating Neutralizer Extract (WINE) and Bothersome Employer Elimination Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system. You should immediately forward this medical alert to five friends. If you do not have five friends, you have already been infected and WORK is controlling your life.

Yeah my arguement had nothing to do with their pricing. I was just stating its no different then any other service out there. A buddy of mine does upholstrey. Yeah he make $500 for a pair of seats. For a full interior restore we're talking serious bank. A automotive places charge you around $95 an hour to look or work on your car. Going on that number it averages out. Business is Business. Now to do it yourself, its obvious your gonna save money, just like anything else, working on your own car, installing your stereo, painting, whatever it is.

maybe try that now with the JL's...... I think the only downside really to my kicks is they really don't get "LOUD". They are clean as hell though. If you can fit the 6 and 4 in your door why not step up to an 8" in the door and pair of 5.25 components in the kick or A-Pillars. It'll give you a nice mid bass kick with that 8 and the 5.25 components will be more than loud enough. MPO. -

You might want to ge that 4" away from the 6.5" or make a seperat enclosure or baffle for it. I listened to the JL Audio 3-way and didn't like it either. Thats how I ended up with the MB Quarts -

I run 3-way components in both my camaro and s10. I went the cheap way and used the Q0Logic Kick Panels. Imaging is a little low in the Truck but the Camaro is fine. The Camaro has a MB Quart 3-way and the S10 has a Boston Acoustics 3-way. Seperating the air space for the 6" mid-bass and 4" mid range is crucial. However, sounds like he might have the crossovers adjusted to a real high pass filter in order to have no vocals. Putting the 4" in the A-pillar is something I was definately contimplating. In Steven Meades Tahoe he has mIds in his A Pillars and they sound great. I think for a truck its the best way to go. For a car you can probably pull off the kick panel fine but, if you want that imaging stage right in your face then an A Pillar seperates and a center channel is the way to go. -
Yeah comission retail sucks. I use to work at the good guys (cali peephs know) they were equal to circuit city or best buys out here. I started off on the sales floor and ended up in the install bay. I learned a lot and had fun working there but, its not much of a career move. Since your young I'd say go for it. Pick up all the experience you can move up as fast as you can and leave. Unless you think your cut out for retail life don't look at it as more as a stepping stone. Your on this forum so its obvious your in to car audio. But, I guarantee you though half of the guys on here don't work in Car Audio Industry any more and some many never have. Good Luck in your job hunting.

Yeah man I wouldn't get rid of them. Enjoy them! Take it as a lesson learn and just keep on building. Honestly I'd just install more speakers in the front and fade out the rear from the deck to balance out the imaging for now. Then when you don't care and just want to blast fade the rears back in. Its a simple way to match your imaging problems.

I'd have to agree with everyone about getting rid of the 6x9's but, I can understand you being attached to them. Plus the whole "if ain't broke then don't try to fix it". I run kick panels in my S10 and Camaro. I have a Silverado too and I'm debating the same thing. Just keeping the doors, droopping them in the kicks or building custom a pillar. - A pillars will definately bring out the front staging but its gonna cost some money in building and another set of components. - Q logics will give you more speakers to the front but again more speakers. - just adding another tweeter will not do.

Team Bassick - Kimo replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in TOOLS and TESTING Devices
oh look at the doggies......... Cool dogs man. I use to have black dog like that. Mine was a shepard and newfie mix. Now I have black lab and pit mix. Nice and clean tool box too. Man the last time my box was that clean was when it was brand new and that lasted for about an hour. LOL -
Don't know whats going to happen this season. 149 class would be nice but, I don't think I can do it in my truck unless I wall it or throw an insane amount of power in there. I'll let you and the rest of the bass race veterans take on the 149 class. As for Alpine, well we'll just have to wait and see. Who knows maybe Joey will try out bass race this season too.
