  1. even 200amps from a 370amp unit is not bad in any way, especially when comparing them to other manufactures that claim 300 amps and only do around 220 max cold at 2krpm.
  2. Besides both of Mechmans elite 250 and 370 amp alternators are claiming 200+ amps at idle. So going with a smaller size alternator to have more idle output seems pointless
  3. I dont demo at idle, many others dont either it seems. I have a throttle in the truck for the past 7ish years. If Im actually listening to the stereo, Im not cruising through the city streets at 157.5 + db, but if it is up a little bit all I got to do is drop the transmission into 3rd gear for some extra rpms. Not like the hit to the gas mileage doing that will hurt my mpg any more than the wall.. lol Me and many others would rather have the increased 100+amps of output at 2krpm, then have 25-50 more amps at idle.
  4. 1170+ amps of alternator current and still has voltage drop..
  5. Id believe it, because that is practical for everyday use I was just being sarcastic. lol
  6. Its the same casing the same oval 4wire plug.. in his truck it would use 3 wires in your truck it will use 2 wires. The additional wire talks back to the vehicle pcm but it should still work with out it.
  7. If its a 5.3 it should just work. I have a old 270amp from my 1999 5.7 in a buddies next gen body style with the 5.3 and it works just fine.
  8. Id probably say someone around 1.75-2.25 ish cubed per 12 inch woofer (after port/woofer/bracing displacements). They subs were never released and I dont think they ever really came up with box suggestions for them. If you could get a hold of the thiele small parameters of the woofer it would be a little easier figuring out a decent sized box. Essentially they are a SA sub, with more beef in every aspect, so going a little larger then recommended for the SA line would probably do just fine. Maybe even 2.5 cubed per woofer depending on how much power the woofer is going to get.
  9. Odd never got any notifications to a new reply on this thread. Your name is now change
  10. no problem. all you would of had to do is save a pic or two from the auction, and then post it here. or even just link the pic from there to here like so there is no way of really knowing what auction they are coming from so you would be in the safe.
  11. Im sure someone would of replied, however in your first post you never posted a link, or even a picture, so there is no real way to tell us what you are looking at. Yes thats an ultra. The ultras have a taller surround, yellow spiders, and the spiders are bolted down. The difference between a regular SA series and a Ultra are drastically apart, and would not run both of them together at the same time in the same box. The ultra have 33% more linear x-max, 20% higher motor force, a 25% higher thermal rating, around 1/2 the at-rest inductance, a thicker magnet ID shorting ring.
  12. fixed again until paypal changes something and it doesn't automatically authorize the checkout. for future reference just message an admin and we can get to it sooner in case we dont see it. thanks.
  13. Id say skar, but since sundown stopped making the skar recones and skar dont know how to recone your going to have to ship it off to someplace lke fixmyspeaker.com. Depending on your location I know Dave Lieb also does great recones, and so do I. Im pretty sure skar still sells the parts but they are just tossed into a box with the expect ion of the user to figure out how to align them properly and properly glue them up.
  14. Congrats to those who won! Always been curious about these things to the point of seeing what it would do to a factory Bose speaker. One day I will find out! Cool giveaway SS.
  15. I remember my old walled Cadillac getting broke into, and the D3100 that was dropped 10 feet from the car. But then again Im sure its probably hard to run and jump over a fence in your back yard with some big mofo chasing you. I think Steve will be fine.
  16. I guess I should start trying to find a new rear end for my tahoe...

  17. Its the cheap loc, dirty dirty dirty. try the lc6i like evermaxx said he did, or some other processor.
  18. It probably is being that he use to run re, and is good friends with Scott that was re. iirc re, concept and beyond audio were all oemed by one of them i thought (dont remember where I heard that though) but all 3 motors where essentially identical.
  19. How they did the tinsels and connections gives it away. Something Concept csp woofers didnt do.
  20. I lost my dad to cancer didn't really know him after the divorce. Seen him once every other month it seemed like as a kid, haven't really heard much from him once I was 18. When I did see him it was a trip to the restaurant for some lunch and then the mall with $5.00 to play some arcade games and back home in about 2hours or less. Cant say I really batted an eye, nor was I even told when or where the funeral was until I was questioned why I wasn't at the funeral from his 2nd to last wife. Pretty pathetic but whatever, and its messed up that the same 2nd from last wife of his sends me cards here and there while his last wife nothing. It took some time I guess for her to realize who and how he was and why my mom got rid of him. I still got a half sister a couple years older than me too, but no idea on her name or where she lives except for somplace in MI I think. Never met or even spoke to her. Oh well. Life goes on! Id say sorry for your loss, but being that your relationship with him is somewhat similar to mine I dont think it would mean much to you, and Id feel out of place saying it just due to the fact that its not your loss.
  21. Just updating to the newer version, there are a lot of things put in place here that took time to get configured right and I dont think a migration would be all to easily done remotely smooth, plus I dont think the guy that does all that would want to deal with all those new hurdles. lol
