Wow, DC is really starting to expand their retailers! Really think its cool how a lot of online retailers are starting to carry more of the "underground" brands of audio instead of just the mainstream stuff. Oh, also you guys need to fix the DC Audio images on your site for DC amplifiers and DC woofers!

I have no problem with a user asking which would be a better product for their use if its the same brand name, and the user posted it in the correct sub-forum (which he did). The "versus" threads become an issue when its Brand A vs Brand B and you get everyone and there mother that are biased to Brand A talking down Brand B and saying things that are not always true. Then in return your get those Brand B users pissed and start dogging on Brand A and usually resort to insults to the other people posting in the thread because what they said...

Both the Zv4 and X series have a faraday ring on the pole, the zv4 also has a 2nd on the inside of the slugs in the gap as well the X does not. zv4 your stepping up to a larger stronger moter, stiffer suspension, stronger coil that will take the power all and all better. if you have 6.99 cubes total, might be best to go with the 12s, unless your already including woofer and port displacement, and the actual box thickness.

Woofer arrived today for the next box I got to build.. Guy is in his 50s, had some vintage rf hxe woofers iirc with blown surrounds and wanted to try something different, was looking at a p3 and with all the plastic on those I recommended him this guy CJ18 from Droppin HZ Car Audio came through with a good price on these guys, so I ordered 2 pairs and should be here this friday. They are for my 2 front XS Power S3400s. Now I can start running some wire. Thanks Cody! Thats where I am as of tonight. Before anyone asks about the back wall being done in half sheets here is why. The wall is wider than the rear doors, to get 1 full piece in the truck its not going to happen. The half sheets will alternate The first inside layer matches the seems all the way around and that seem is horizontal, the 2nd layer on the outside of the wall is vertical, my 3rd layer inside the wall will also have a verticle seam, the 4th layer will be horizontal on the outside, and a 5th horizontal layer on the outside. May do a 6th order on the inside.. Ruff interior space is about 53cubic feet thus far.

Ideally id go with 2 zv4s on the dc 5k but thats not an option so.. Id go with the 2 x12s on a dc 5k wired at .5

second thought a better idea instead of having to constantly re tune the amp would be set the amp gain like normal, but use a lower subwoofer volume on the radio, then figure when you compete turn that subwoofer volume back up on the radio for a 0db setting, once done competing turn the subwoofer volume back down.

You would want to set the amp with the 0db tone.

I would assume that once all the items are finished being tooled and final design is ideal that the online retailers will update their sites with the additional info. It still seems like some of the sleeves and spider combos are still being tested out and are not avaible til the end of the year according to jacobs first post.

As said above, not all radios distort, so it maybe distortion free at max volume. So you should reset your amplfiers gain to match the new radio volume settings.

If you can buy a new battery for under the hood somewhat soon, I wouldn't worry about it too much. But I wouldnt go doing it for years on end. Personally if your system is correct in your sigature with a audiopipe 1500, high output alt, big 3, etc I would upgrade that stock battery under the hood first with the proper size battery that fits that location, and then go ahead and see if your still needing more battery power or reserve capacity. just my $0.02 though.

Yes, it will hurt the agm battery. A flooded lead acid battery has a lower resting voltage compared to an agm battery that normally rests around 12.9 or so volts. When your car is off, the front stock flooded lead acid battery is only about 12.3ish volts, there for the front battery will cause the agm battery with a higher resting voltage to drain its voltage down until it matches that off the stock flooded lead acid type battery.
