Just something Ive found online. Pretty much the same exact thing as piano wire and 2 wooden dowels, only some company just made some handles and made a kit. Probolly kinda pricey too. They also got cutters simular to what we got at the salvage yard. https://www.equalizerfusion.com/ProductDeta...fpayZsw6m/LxV8h

If you want to attempt shattering your window, go nuts with a putty knife. Auto glass is pretty weak when its not glued into the car. When I help out at my buddies salvage yard, we did the piano wire trick for 15 plus years! Well before Ive been helping. The boss man just picked up the heated cutting tool last summer, and it simplifies the job from 2 people and a good 30-45 minutes to 1 person and 15-20 minutes. Piano wire aint to expensive, can find it online or at a music store that sells/repairs pianos. Its sharp and will cut you easily! So if your able to get 2 short wooden dowels about the width of your hand, drill a tiny hole in the middle to feed the piano wire thru and wrap it around a few times you should be fine. Wise idea to wear a pair of gloves for extra protection too! then just feed the wire thru the glass seal, and put an identical handle on the other side. Its a pita and Ive broke many windows doing it, some windows are easier then others, different types of glue sometimes makes it harder. IMO your better off paying the 75$

They make special cutters to heat up the glue that holds the window in as it cuts. Pretty pricey tool however. Or you can do it the old fashioned way and cut the seal/glue with piano wire (its going to take 2 people) 1 person on the inside of the car, other on the outside, and just pull the piano wire back and forth. Works best when your doing it outside in the hot summer sun. To make it easier you can try to heat up the glue with a heatgun in small spots before cutting.

Thank you! -
Yea, its a 9918 series basket only known as the "beast" which is in my pictures, I had older 9518 baskets, and where not the same as the one above. They are like the current 18 baskets, only they where painted a glossy black.

Yea, thats clearly a paper cone with a 6.5 inch carbon fiber cap. 10 inch woofer, means from outside of the surround on both sides is 10 inchs. No subtract a inch from both sides due to the width of the cone (2 inches), so we are at 8 inchs diameter, and you can still see a good .5 inches of paper cone, plus DD's wide glue base around the cone which is almost a inch, leaves us with 6.5 inchs which is the size of the dustcap, not 8 inches.

You got that wrong son! They exist, but just are not manufactured no more.

Im just curious to see how everyone spruced up their homes for this wonderful holiday. If you got pictures or videos of your Christmas decorations you did on the outside of your house, or of your Christmas Tree post them up! Again, just for your house, not some cool youtube video of a xmas lightshow that is not your own. :01nocomment8so: Here is my tree, yea its tiny!! Lol But I bought some new lights for it, and a centerpiece for the top, its now official that the lights costed more then the $18 walmart tree. I only got these RBG LED's because they where marked down from $29.99 a set to $18.99. New lights Video I didnt decorate my house this year, but my mom wanted hers done so I did that for her. Got rid of all the traditional lights and went with all LED, I think I spent about $384 for her on LED Lights. More to come next year, but this is just a start in the LED direction

Does anyone know the Height, Width, and Depth of the actual controller module? -
^^^^ Also forgot to add that I have origional manufactures packaging, and each sub seems to handle 3krms at 29hz tuning daily. Just had fresh recones done not even a month ago, and subs only seeing half the power I normally run to them until they are broke in, which seems a long ways away yet.

What are you looking to spend Thewes? I may have 2 thing that weights ruffly 65lb each, dual 1.4 ohm coils, "1500wrms" each, 3 inch flat wound coils and a FS of 29HZ. PS: I wouldnt deal with tripleb or dccavalier, they both had issues issues (one of them numerious times now) and result to 1st grade playground insults. Just a heads up

Help me pick a new video card!!
audiofanaticz replied to JZeFF's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
Im running a single evga 9800gtx (same one you have a link too) and it runs pretty good on my computer, its bottlenecked a tad I think due to a older pc. But still works very great for gaming. Ill be tossing a pair in SLI soon I hope. The best on your list is going to be the evga gts250, followed by the evga9800gtx, Its hard to say which would take 3rd and 4th. The ati4890 would be 3rd best but being its made by "saphire" that is prob the cause for many of the bad reviews you said. So Id go with the XFX ati card even tho its a lower model but made by a better brand name company. and the ati4890 last.. With video cards no matter if its Nvidia or Ati, its like compairing amps (sundown 3000wrms amp vs something like a Audiopipe 3000wrms) The sundown is going to cost a bit more, do rated power and some extra, and be cleaner sounds. Where the AudioPipe will just barley do 3000wrms, made from cheaper parts, costs half as much, etc. -
add joo right now? Lets see who wins

news paper is good for regular glass, but I personally would just go with the microfiber cloth like everyone else said.

Nice Sub A Team
audiofanaticz replied to WCA Rusty's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
Congrats and granted I Dont have a massive stereo such as you, but having 8 subs with 2500watts ruffly per sub is easier on the woofers then having only 2 subs with 4300watts on each of them. I run DD because they usually work great, and I always seem to be the underdog out woofing walled vehicles in my area that have more cone, or more power. But that could be all in their install. Its hard to say that 1 company is better then another because every manufacture has strong and weak points, but its hard to go and drop $1200 on 2 new woofers from a different company. I have a friend that used lvl 5s and he went thru a couple sets of recones, whats to say I wont have the same issue, and be out even more money. Maybe someday down the road Ill move on, maybe it will be the start of 2010db drag/bassrace. You said that the higher center of gravity issue has been addressed? How so? That is really my only concern im wonder? Hopefully it wasnt addressed like t3 where you have a gap thats looser then a 200 year old hooker. -

audiofanaticz replied to WCA Rusty's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
Im not worrying at all.. Just something Ive noticed in my past 3-4 years running a simular setup. Im pretty sure I said that Ill be waiting to see how DC and T3 turns out. If it works, then DD must not know how to build woofers... :01nocomment8so: But then again, Im one who builds my stereos to be played at high volume levels daily as well as compete. There is no volume knob in my eyes, its either 150+db full tilt cruising down the streets or off. I never seem to find a happy medium. LOL
