B&C has also been around forever! They use to make a spl meter that was used by many events way before the audio control.

Need Help Choosing New Computer....
audiofanaticz replied to NoFearX18's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
That sucks.. For real tho, they are trying to settle you on a cheap ass pc... It dont go buy technologoy of the computer it goes by cost.. How many cars did the istallers mess up and have to get the people a new car, lots. And people didnt get some pinto for their brand new honda that was messed up.. Hopefully you didnt settle on a computer yet, becasue Id fight it, and take it to their corperate offices... Bestbuy sells everything at MSRP. Their prices are much higher then other places that are not corperate stores. They dont lose $50 on every computer they sell, if they did they wouldnt be in business... They are trying to bend you over and shove a 2 foot cock up where there sun dont shine -
What Power Kit Or Wire Would You Guys Recomend?..

No you dont, dont listen to this nub, he dont even have a car to put the stereo he has in. And his mommy wont let him put it in the truck cuz she thinks he will burn it down, and if you seen his soldering job he did on his wiring, you would believe his mom. ROFLPWNED! :01nocomment8so: But a high to low output converter is what I linked to in my post before this, but its not needed since you can do it all with the built in one on the amp. -

oh jeeze... If you want to afro-engineer the wiring go nuts. but thats not the proper way.. Snipping the ends off the rca's will not send a balanced signal to the amp, you will clip the amp (which you will have to do anyways to get any wanted power from it). You technically dont even need the rca cables if you use the amps "high level input" on the amp. It should come with a small 5 pin white plug. What you will want to do is tap/splice into the rear stock speakers of the car, and wire the left and the right to the high level input plug. The amp should come with the plug to plug into it. Or you can buy a converter which is about 20 bucks, and does the same thing the high level input of the amp does. But its not really needed since that amp has the high level inputs. Such as one of these. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_4994_S...+Converter.html -

Or if you really wanted 8 gauge power wire spend another $10 more ($25 total) and go with this RF 8 gauge kit. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13588_...gate+CP8PI.html All power wire is not created equal. Theres a lot of companies that claim 0 gauge wire and its super cheap, but when you compair it next to a quality wire (rf, stinger, kicker) you will see that this cheap 0 gauge wire has a thick rubber insulation around the actually wire, and when you compair the sizes, this cheap 0 gauge will be the size of the nicer brandname companies 4 gauge wires. Im just using 0 gauge as an example, but even smaller sized wires made by cheap companies is the same way.. The price of the cheap wire is so cheap because there is pratically no wire, its all insulation to make it look bigger then what it is. More less a scam! -

Honestly no... That some no namebrand garbage wiring... Spend the extra 5 bucks and get this 10 gauge wiring kit from Rockford fosgate. Then you can at least say he has decent quality audio gear in his car. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2111_R...te+CP10PI.html# -

The amp is fused at 25 amps. That means if that amp is running full tilt max volumes the most it will draw is about 25 amps, it may peak to a 30 amp draw, but being it is a boss audio amp that is completely over rated on its wattage output, you will be lucky to see a max draw of 25 amps with gains and bass boost all the way up clipping the amp... The first post on the electrical wiring forum there is this post that is pinned. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=1005 Look on the fuse rating versus wire size. These are the max fuse ratings you should run on that wire. Knowing that this amp is fused at 25 amps, we should be looking for a wire that is around that.. You could use 8 gauge, but even then your still wasting money on wire!! A somewhat decent brand of 10 gauge wiring will be way more then sufficant for that amp. Here it is quoted from that post.. You will see that a 4 gauge wire has a max fuse of 140 amps, If you wanted to you could run 6 of them little pos boss amps off 1 run of 4 gauge.... 10 gauge wiring is your winner, and still a bit more then needed, maybe put the money saved on wire towards a better amp. A amp that doesnt cost more to ship then the price of the amp itself.... Most likely you wont even to tell you have subs in the car with that boss amp.. If your lucky you will get 150 watts rms out of the amp, and 200 watts peak. Which is far from the 600-1000 watt amp your buddy wants.. -

He could use the 16 gauge wire for power and ground too.. Lol.. But for real, why waste money on 4 gauge wire, when the amp is only drawing 25 amps (30 amps if lightning strikes the amp). Even a 10 gauge power wire and ground is too much for that amp.. 12 gauge will be cutting it close, but most likely it will do fine. Its hard not to LOL but for real. If this guy is so cheap why spend money on un-needed wiring. If I read it right your installing it for a buddy or customer or whatever, Id straight up tell him he is not going to be happy and you are praticly wiping your butt with the spent money and flushing it down the toilet. Everyone needs to start somewhere, but this amp is not even Wal-Mart worthy. I mean the shipping to bring that amp to my door is $19.00. Thats over 1/4th the cost of the amp... -

I seen this in one of the bulletins on myspace that I rarely read. A businessman met a beautiful girl and agreed to spend the night with her for $500. They did their thing, and, before he left, he told her that he did not have any cash with him, but he would have his secretary write a check and mail it to her, calling the payment 'RENT FOR APARTMENT. On the way to the office, he regretted what he had done, realizing that the whole event had not been worth the price. So he had his secretary sent a check for $250 and enclose the following typed note: Dear Madam: Enclosed you will find a check for $250 for rent of your apartment. I am not sending the amount agreed upon, because when I rented the place, I was under the impression that: #1 - it had never been occupied; #2 - there was plenty of heat; and #3 - it was small enough to make me feel cozy and at home. However, I found out that: #1 - it had been previously occupied, #2 - there wasn't any heat, and #3 - it was entirely too large. Upon receipt of the note, the girl immediately returned the check for $250 with the following note: Dear Sir: #1 - I cannot understand how you could expect a beautiful apartment to remain unoccupied indefinitely. #2 - As for the heat, there is plenty of it, if you know how to turn it on. #3 - Regarding the space, the apartment is indeed of regular size, but if you don't have enough furniture to fill it, please do not blame the management. So, Please send the rent in full or we will be forced to contact your present landlady. I lol'ed at it.

Here Ya Go Rusty...wat I Came Up W:)

thought i read your pops.. I was close hehe. But yea, that is a nice piece of machine you got access too. props! -
Thats a decent amp for the subs, and the refurbs even carry a warrenty which is nice, and within the guys budget. Tho the sundown saz1500 is a tad bit to much power for the subs, you can just turn the gain down instead of volt matching it with the headunit. Then this way your customer will have room to upgrade if he ever wants a better subs in the future like type r's or something.

Walled 15s
audiofanaticz replied to bass buster's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
The 3 15s is more cone area then 2 18s. If your giving the 3 15s more power then the 2 18s it will be louder. Even if your giving the 3 15s around the same power as the 2 18s it will be louder, maybe not by a lot, but by a few tenths on the termlab. Not only could the seats effect the way the subs load, it could be the subs position in the wall. If you put all three subs on passenger side, and the port on driver side, it will be louder on the meter then any other sub/ port combitnation. Also, you maybe a little off on the amps with volt matching them. Its very hard to get amps set idenically at all volumes. Even when master/slaving the amps using the amps built in feature it is a bit hard since the master amp will push just a little harder then the next amp down the line in a daisy chain effect. A maxxsonics maxxlink may solve all your problems for under $80 bucks. I just got me one, cant wait to mess with it! -
No, you cant. I mean, if you wanted to solder an additional set of tweeters to those terminals you could, but I wouldnt reccomend it, since you may change the tweeter crossover freq and end up risking a blown tweeter. But those terminals that you see are actually being used. They are for the crossover for the tweeter on the speaker. The pic you have is just small and you cant see it clearly.

08zx400.1 Only Power On When Turn Up Volume?
audiofanaticz replied to Lucas702's topic in Amplifiers
hmm weird. usally the solid blue wire from the headunit is the remote wire, then blue with white strip is power antenna, if it was hooked to that wire, the amp would only come on when the headunit was in tuner (am/fm) mode. Aftermarket headunits all follow the same color codes for the wiring harness, weather it be sony, alpine, panasonic, eclipse, pioneer, jensen, dual, boss, yadda yadda yadda. glad you got it figured out tho and its working -

same here, but i just heard it for the first time, figured it was a few weeks old for sure since it was number 7 on the top 8 at 8. I looked on the first 5 pages of the tunez forum, and I didnt see anything with Mia or paper planes in the topic title. So I dont really think its a repost, but if it is oh well... Im not gonna read tons of threads fully before I make a post. Thanks for the bump tho big p -
Need Help Choosing New Computer....
audiofanaticz replied to NoFearX18's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
Which ever. Not my money. its his.. I just would never buy another dell, unless its from the xps line of laptops, because now its all alienware in a dell case. otherwise its build my own desktop.. Is sport a acer or toshiba without a doubt before another laptop. Ive been looking for something cheap and used, just to run a termlab and even still wont buy a dell. But its just me. When I got my laptops the first thing I did was wiped them out. Got rid of all the BS software on them, same with any prebuilt pc from hp, dell, gateway, sony, compaq, acer, toshiba. You have backups off all the supplied programs if you do need them, but otherwise I dont want that crap lagging down my pc or any old registry files. Id rather have more cpu speed over memory any day of the week. I run a 2 gig kit in my desktop and never had a need for more yet, and can play all games at max values. Video is my next concern. If your ever wanting to play any sort of game on your laptop you are very limited. On board video sucks major ass so I totally agree on that, but the dell video compaired to the sony is horrible, thats why I also asked if he puts money towards that $900 if he can go with something more expensive and get something that does not run onboard video. but the dell x3100 with up to 358mb of shared memory is weak compaired to the sony 4500mhd with up to 1340mb of shared memory. Video memory is very important when it comes to good video rendering with video editing and some games. I could careless about the webcam megapixel, thats something Id never use, dont know about the OP tho. I just know the wifi is something nice to have if your on the go a lot. My buddy that goes to a lot of shows has wifi on his laptop that he uses his termlab on, and its nice being able to goto random shows and still have internet access that he can borrow. Besides, if he has problems with any computer he gets, he has that geeksquad support...... Lol -
Anyone heard it, Its kind of a pop song I guess, but I like it for somereason. Heard it on the radio today. Im liking the gunshots in it. and what not. Kinda cool. Havent bumped it tho.

Thats some pimp ass shit!! Im jealous!! Bass14, I bet if you got access to tools to make these, you could probolly take custom orders and make some cash!!! You can make nametags for desks, pen holders, etc. Im sure Mr meade like one that say SMD in big letters, then have it say stevemeadedesigns.com along the bottom or something. Just ideas.. but skills man!!

Need Help Choosing New Computer....
audiofanaticz replied to NoFearX18's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
Ive had 2 dell inspirons 1100, and a 1200. Not to menching a dell rackmount server. I didnt care for either of the labtops, traded 1 for a 1990 car that needed a motor the server is kinda cool, but lacking on hard drive space. That dells video is weak compaired to both sonys! And the video memory is only expandable to 358, where the sonys you can expand it to over 1000mb shared memory. No video outputs. Smaller screen. But hey I guess it atleast has a bigger harddrive, not that 250 is not enough.. -
Need Help Choosing New Computer....
audiofanaticz replied to NoFearX18's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
Most likely the computer has to be in bestbuy inventory or stock.. The red sony viao isnt to shappy, but I was browsing more. This one is a silver sony viao, and the same price I think you would be more pleased with it. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1211587729137 Your gaining a faster processor speed, both are core 2 duo mobile but this one is 2.26mhz vs the 2.00mhz. Tho the cd-rw burner is a tad slower, but not nothing to make you want it. Other pros: bigger monitor! 16.4" vs 14.1. hdmi output (other has none, not even s-video). wi-fi Cons: The tad slower burn speed and about a pound heavier. no bluetooth Another thing I would check on is if your allowed to put more money towards the $900 they will allow you to spend, so if you had a spare $300, you might be even to get something a bit nicer so then you will be getting pratically a upgrade for only a few hundred extra. Id stick with the Viao's tho, they are a great computer, and seem to hold their value better then some other brands(hp, dell, gateway). And Ive never been a fan of hp or compaq (same company). Dells are alright, last I heard they bought out alienware and they are using the old alienware guts in the xps line of their computers now, but dont remember it all for sure.. -
What he says right there aint nothing but the truth! If your making a daily beater, fosgate all the way. But if your making a spl, or a bassracer, Id have to rock that Memphis! The reason behind thatt is becasue you can drop that memphis down to lower ohm loads, and step your voltage up to 16 (18.5volt charging) without any problems or modding. Either amp you run with your gonna need a decent battery bank. If amp size is a problem, maybe you will need to look at the memphis, they are about the same length as a t4k, but they are very narrow, you could stack 2 mojos next to each other, and you would still be using the same amount of room compaired to a t4k.
