Looking at a civic
mbdblue replied to SPLVan's topic in Engine and Performance - Anything for that couple extra horses!
Id never buy a car with a replaced motor...especially one that won't start. you don't know who did the work and you don't know why it won't start. if you buy that car and its a hackjob, you could be looking at a whole lot more work/money on your hands. *** If your into that thing, it might be perfect for you...but Id make sure I have a whole lot of time on my hands to be ripping it apart and making sure everythings right. sounds like your not looking for a project though... -

prelude seats

putting up my spare seats for sale...kind of want to sell them locally cuz they would be a real bitch to ship. I know its pretty specific, but maybe Ill get lucky... they fit in a 92-96 honda prelude pretty sure any/all sub models. I just took them out to put my black pair in. I heard they were originally designed by Recaro for Honda but I really don't know 100%. they sure are unique looking! if your a mad scientist, you can cut off the mounting locations and weld in your own. I did this with the black pair when I wanted to mount them in my accord. just bought accord mounting brackets for universal racing seats and fabbed up some mounting tabs. I know tan isn't the ideal color, so Ill take 150 for both if picked up. upholstery can get expensive. also can scrub some of the darker spots out if your not going to re-upholter.

trans rebuilding
mbdblue replied to mbdblue's topic in Engine and Performance - Anything for that couple extra horses!
Ill have to talk to the guys at Trans Specialties (where Im gonna be ordering the rebuild kit) and see exactly what it comes with. last thing I want to do is have it all torn apart and find something that I don't know what the hell it is haha. and Ill have to remember that goop stuff. and it looks like this project just gained 100 bucks cuz thats how much they want for the trans now. -
mine are something like these.....but if they are designed the same way, the actual threaded pieces are bolts that come in from the bottom. the first nut is to hold that bolt in place, the second nut is to hold the fuse and ring terminal. if the threads are set into the block, than you may have just one nut.

Have you used them before , do they have a good rep yeah I used them before...he was good and generally concerned with my setup haha

its an argument, no one ever wins. chalk it up to difference of opinion...but tell him if he wants to pay for materials, build a box.
