  1. Pics aren't working for me either, but yea I'm with kranny, call the law and see what they can do, that's bullshit. Sorry you couldn't hit up SBN man that totally sucks -edit: the pics are working thanks hdorre
  2. Yea it sucks that these laws are here. The way I see it is they should just stick the sensor in the pipe and test the levels, and if it's clean the pass. No need to check all the under hood shit. As far as the original question, as long as all the california smog stuff is there then the referee should pass it. The way California has all their laws makes the smog techs too scared to do stuff like that. It's easier for them to pass it on to a referee and not worry about losing their license.
  3. From what I understand is that the more cone area you have, the louder you can get in a broader hz range. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but that's how I understand it.
  4. Shoot I wish I would have invested some money in apple when I bought my first iPod. That company just doesn't know how to drop.
  5. In order to double your $100 you are gonna need to invest and wait quite a while, you have better odds of going to a casino and betting on the blackjack table. At least that way you know very quick if you doubled your money or lost it. But if you have some time to sit on your investment then do some research on the market and diversify your money, don't just put it all in one company, cause if that one company crashes so does all of your money, but if you only invest 10% into that same company, your other 90% is still working for you.
  6. Oh, cool, I was thinking it was gonna be more like 500. Makes the distortion detector even more attractive!
  7. How much does that Oscope Meade has go for anyway? I can't seem to find it through google.
  8. Looks great man! I'm def gonna get one when I start my build. Any idea on pricing?
  9. Do you have room for a second alt? You could probably get away with adding another stock alt. It would be way cheaper than buying a HO alt. That is if you can fab your own bracket or know someone that can help you with that.
  10. I'd wall it off, but that's just me. I've had a blow through before and wasn't real happy with the results. Although that could have been because I didn't do it right. It was a long time ago lol.
  11. Yea I agree with the alt first, then when you save another couple hundred bucks buy a good battery. If you get a couple good battery's first, it might prove to be too hard on your stock alt leaving you to upgrade your alt anyway.
  12. Well you could find a reputable shop that has an Oscope and have them set the gains for you. Or one of the members on here that has an Oscope and live close to ya might be able to help.
  13. Lol I bet he excurts alot! And those Sony xplouds are so good you can turn the gain all the way up without distortion!
  14. Bacon Tomato Lettuce, at least that's what I want for lunch! Mmmm. Seriously tho, I'm sure there is something it stands for.
  15. X2 on that idea, I had a buddy at work that did it, he said it was easy except finding a bed for it, but his was a newer chevy so it might be easier on an older one.
  16. Sorry that did come across kinda harsh. I wasnt trying to point the finger at you, just trying to point out it's lame to download pirated music. My apologies.
  17. Yea that's pretty lame to steal someone elses hard work.
  18. I see what you did there As far as the noise, I'm assuming you didn't change any settings since the sound started? Maybe a tinsil lead hitting the cone?
  19. Course you can, if it sounds like complete shit (distortion) then your obviously clipping) Yea you will obviously be clipping at that point, but what your hearing is distortion, not clipping, right? Cause the actual clipping starts before you can hear it I thought. Just cause your not distorted doesn't mean your not clipping from what I understand and the ONLY way to know for sure is with an Oscope. true, many people tune their system by ear and have 0 problems with it though. Yea I understand not everyone has access to an Oscope and rely only on their ears, hell I've tuned alot of systems by ear. I was just making the point that you can't HEAR clipping cause it's not a noise, it's a sign wave that is clipped off at the peaks.
