not bad at all. I always like to know who is behind me when driving so i find myself checking my side view mirrors on corners. Like anything else you get used to it, I never feel unsafe because of it. Just when you are backing up, roll down you windows, turn music down, and do it slowly. Then listen for screams and horns, if there are none you are good to go

I know parts express has a pre assembled crossover for 3000 or 3500, its another option for a decent price at least http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/searchResults.cfm?srchExt=CAT&srchCat=193 also, sorry about having to pull out your build. I always enjoy seeing other walled 2 18 cars.

I would add the PPI power class amps to your list if you are already looking at PPI http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_24410_Precision-Power-PPI-PC360.2.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=productads&gclid=CL-qofmqjrACFaEJRQodVzcbpg Supposed to be pretty nice

crossover for what? Rephrase your question with details about equipment you are running and goals etc so we can help. Right now your question doesnt really mean anything...

The tuning would be the same since there is no way for the air to escape through the original port accept now through the new aeros which are going to be shorter than the original slot since its going for a higher tuning. So just tune for the aeros like you would in a regular box but take the volume of the slot port into account for the box's air space/volume. Then it would just come down to the question of lost efficiency due to the location of the ports inside the slot and how the air flows in the box. I would say go for it. You dont have much to lose. And if it doesnt work it shouldn't be hard to sell some 6 inch aeros and get your money back

gotcha, I know some companies have been coming out with some real good bargain class d 4 channels. PPI comes to mind, can't remember the series but i believe there is a soundstream version of that too since if I am not mistaken they have the same parent company now. Looking forward to the build, should be sick!

I never got the whole millions of tweets compared to mids, tweets in general are far more efficient than mids. Off topic though, its all about what makes you happy. You want to use multichannel amps for your mids and highs. "reason why im wondering about mono amps is to have less amps to hook up" Im not trying to be rude in any way but this sentence makes me think you are confused about the difference between multi channel and mono amps...you would need more mono amps than multi channel to achieve the same thing. Plus many mono amps are not designed to play frequencies above 250-500hz

With your port being only 7.25 inches wide can you even fit 6 inch aerosin there including the flares? Or would you have to do a bunch of 4s?
-
I think it would "work" if the aeros are inside the box...cant say for sure if it would do what you are hoping though If the aeros are sticking out of the box (for some reason thats what I thought you were talking about at first) then it would just be tuning you even lower since your port length is extending

what kind of power do you have available for these? Or what is the eventual intended power? Will make some difference on the box -

mrd6 replied to rcardell's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
damn that is a tiny port. You are willing to rebuild the entire box yes? How much more room will you accept the box taking up? It may turn out that you wont use all 8 due to space restrictions -
Depending how soon you want to get it, I plan on selling mine for 600 mid summer...

Great Deal! My girlfriend is starting a build on her car and I emailed her the link as soon as this went up. She just bought a pack of damp and damp pro but she said the receipt only showed her purchasing the damp pro but she was charged for the price of both packs. I'm sure its all good, but would you be able to double check that the order was processed correctly? She is kinda freakin out lol. Order #b42b093

all i'm saying is you'll probably find answers to basic questions much faster searching google than posting here and waiting for a response. Not trying to be rude, just sayin' is all.
