  1. Do you know your Alts are making power? Play the system loud and clamp your your alts. I have 4 3.5ks @.5 each running off a single mechman 220a. With some caps. Rarely drop below 12s. I shut it off and charge up of I see 11.x. Something is up, the problem is not the lithium
  2. Is this the truck that did a 161 bassboxing qualifying with BOTH doors open?
  3. I run my zv4s on a 3.5k each daily. Never had any issues...if you care about numbers and cost isn't an issue, go ns3. If its just for daily listening, its probably not worth the extra money over a zv4
  4. Pretty much. I'm in the exact same boat. Now I'm trying to run 15k rms, still on the same 240a mechman with 8 banks of supercaps. It works...okay...but I'm not happy with it. I'll be finding someone to help.me fab up dual alts this winter.
  5. Take my build as an example when I ran a ddzse, 7k rms. I ran a single mechman 240 alt and 6 xp3000s. This allowed me to play close to full songs full tilt before giving it a break. With that setup I could demo for 1-2 minutes balls to the wall and stay above 12 volts. In the amount of time it took to switch songs, voltage was back and ready to go again. 240 amps of alt is really only good for a 3.5k amp max unless ypu start adding lots of batteries and or caps.
  6. Agreed to set gains correctly as all have said. In addition, i'd try turning your subsonic filter down...assuming you have a decent box for those subs, you probably have no need to run the subsonic at all.
  7. ...specifically the word removable. Have you ever tried to remove secondskin? I would think this product would work better for more permanent applications. Haha and now i'm off to find a reason to order some...
  8. Thanks for the reply, Hunter right? I was actually texting him about this earlier this week lol. He has banks of 7 caps and is charging at 16.2. So a slightly different scenario. Id like to avoid having to buy 10 more caps to run banks of 7 for now but if its my only option it'll just have to wait til next season :/
  9. I recently sold off all of my xp3000s in favor of running banks of supercaps. I have 8 banks (soon to be 10) of 6 caps now so my max charging voltage is 16.2V. I mostly compete in IASCA classes which require you to have a battery under the hood. So I can't totally ditch batteries but I want to charge a bit higher to squeeze as much out of my system as possible. So my question to the XS crew is: can I run a d1400 daily under the hood but charge around 15.8v? Will this damage the battery over time or will I just see a little less performance out of it than if I were in the mid 16s?
  10. My xp3000s were at 13.1 after two weeks sitting I'm my garage off the charger. Two weeks later now and they were at 13.05 when I checked last night.
  11. ^Agreed. Also if you are more interested in musical output and only need to play down to the mid to high 20s you don't need to tune super low. 32-34hz would be fine.
  12. Lol that last parts the key. Drunk driving Mario kart used to be a classic prefunk for me. You have to finish your beer before you finish the race otherwise you automatically lose hahah
  13. My 64 is the only console I own, super smash bros and Mario kart FTW!
  14. Interesting...Can't say anything about the internals but the + and - plates on these are certainly different than the Maxwell caps I run. Looking forward to some comparison tests between the two and whether or not the XS can be wired up in a bank with the Maxwells. I very much like that they are black too, the blue does NOT go well with the rest of the rodeo lol
  15. ^I think the results would really depend on the amp. Some amps will put out ALOT of power past 1% distortion (IIRC thats the percent the DD-1 detects) but they will still not yet be driven into clipping. Other amps will distort and clip at the same point. I would liken this to the certified and uncertified amp dyno modes. I would imagine amps that are further apart on these two modes when put on the dyno would have a much greater variation in score.
  16. Post some pictures. What kind of sound is it? Wooshing of air or like a scrape or clicking sound? If its air, you may have a leak around your sub. Try taping around the edges to seal it up really well and see if the sound goes away.
  17. How much air space do you have? the zv4s will be louder if you cant give enough space for all of the xs...
  18. What benefit does that basket option have? ...besides looking super badass lol
