  1. Or one of these scaled down for a 10" http://www.decware.com/newsite/dbk12.htm nice thing about this design is you can add a second sub(clamshell) later if you want. Same with the DBK10
  2. Consider one of these http://www.decware.com/newsite/dbk10.htm
  3. If you have EGR valvle codes have it changed quick. IF you don't this will only lead to more costly repairs in the near future. Once your engine sets a code it will no longer meter the fuel properly and goe sinto a default mode. When you continue to drive the next things that happen will be possible bad 02 sensor(s), clogged catalytic converter (or worse it could breakup and end up in your muffler), and or burnt plugs. If you are handy go to your local Autozone and have them check the code to verify. Replace the valve or what ever other component is setting the code and hope other damage hasn't already been done. The cost of the repair will be made up quickly just in gas milage. Also, contrary to popular belief, always run premium gas, it really does make a difference.
  4. In a word....NO will potentially sound really nice though!
  5. I am curious about this also for a slightly larger enclosure
  6. Here is one option for image hosting: Image Shack So you would upload the image to a hosting site Copy the web address of the link after it is uploaded In the post editor click the "insert Image" link In the "Url" field post the web address to the link As to the glass ...not my area of expertise...yet **Edited to add a few details about getting the link to the forum
  7. naahhh,,i just thought that bass in giving you cancer its just stupid how can shakiness give you cancer? perhaps being in close proximity to high strength electro magnetic fields ... Linkage
  8. Is that $200 each or for both? I read that as $200 + Shipping for the pair but only "CoolWazabi" knows for sure. /cheers
  9. Ported. But you probably won't reach obnoxious with this setup...maybe a just little rude Look around these forums a bit and you will see what obnoxios can be...maybe even some ludacris and perhaps 1 or 2 plaid!
  10. Swap back to the 16 gauge and see if the problem goes away.
  11. Although Im sure pleanty will disagree; since this is your first I recommend sealed. Especially with the 25hz Fs on the P1s You'll get nice deep flat response. The box will be simpler to build and will be a greta overall experience all the same. With a ported box you will enjoy a nice increase at the tuned frequency, at the cost of a slightly more complex box and you'll miss out on the low lows that you can't hear anyway . /cheers
  12. Yeah, either the box is too large, the subsonic filter needs adjusting and/or your exceeded the physical limits of the sub (1 or both) and they are damaged. My noob 2cents
  13. This. I'd not recommend doing a box like that...just too risky depending on how small the cut-through is going to be compared to the normal size of the box. Yeah I agree with both of you it is risky. The cut through is going to have to be huge to compensate for the short height of the bed. I would be using every inch I can squeeze out of it leaving enough room to glass and attach to the body... Unless I can spec out a good 4th order BP in {16" X 39" X 60"} which will be tight with the 15.5 dia of the sub. I may be able to shave a bit off by removing the gasket though...and notch out a section in the top and bottom of the box. I would think that you're probably best off with a bp, the angle probably wouldn't matter really, it should be fine :-) How big is the hole you are going to cut be? I have a nice idea for how to do the box. Hole can be as big as it needs to be. Just to guesstimate a max...36" X 14" ...ish

  15. Car = S10 ext cab (1998) Box: I'm thinking either large ported or bandpass if possible. One problem with bandpass (4th order) in this truck is the bed dimensions...only allows for 16" total box height so the subs would have to be angled...not sure if I wanna do that. If I go ported (leaning towards this) I plan on using the ext cab area to mount the subz...cut-through inside the box and additional box volume in the bed (yeah the cut-through will need special attention to be air tight). I wanna let the beasts breath! ported in the cab from the top of the box followed by 2 45degree angles into the bed. Something like this...
