  1. If yer just getting going, then I recommend places like CI. http://www.cigarsinternational.com/ Prices are pretty good, and some of the specials they run are killer. Start with their sampler packs. Save the wrappers you like and narrow down your selection as you go. Personally I'm not a fan of the Cubans. I think the ones coming out of the Dominican Republic are a way better smoke CI, Atlantic, JR's, Uncle Mikey, Cigarbid- there are a TON of great online sources for NC's. And yes, I wish my Cubans were constructed as well as NC's; I always concede that. Taste is personal prefernce- just try as many as you can and don't worry about what others tell you. I don't like string cigars as I have a weak stomach for nicotene, but my favorite brand is one fo the strongest!?
  2. I use silica beads for humidity control. Almost set and forget. Oasis units are nice, but pricey and have drawbacks if something goes wrong. A good friend lost the contents of his bottom shelf of his Bob Staebell humidor to mold because his drain tube became unclipped. I think my 25 lbs of beads cost about $60. With beads, you mist them occasionally and that's it. They just learn what RH% to stay at. I used unsealed, really porous teracotta tiles for the floor so I can wet that if need to help get the rH up as well. As for getting started, forget what everyone tells you and just truy as many as you can. Yeah, Cohibas are great but they're freaking pricey. Lots of good stuff like La Gloria Cubana, Bolivar and El Rey del Mundo for less but it's very subjective. Buy singles and fivers to start, and buya MUCH, MUCH bigger humidor than you think you'll need becauase if you buy a box it will fill most desktops. You guys are lucky; getting Cubans into the US is crazy easy; my mules both live in the US; it's easier to have cigars shipped to them, and they re-send gifts to me, than it is to get them into Canada If you want verified sources shoot me a message. Lots out there despite all the fake ones. -Kev
  3. You guys don't get enough props; THANK YOU. Sorry to hear that- it must be incredibly hard when there are victims, but we all sleep better knowing you boys are on call.
  4. My link 1) Pls bear with me; I've never used Photobucket before 2) I'm SO happy it's almost done! Just waiting for the finishing touch for the glass door- hopefully next week. My son "helped" me turn an unused corner into a 100ft^3 humidor right after finishing out basement over the winter. I'm NOT a finishing carpoenter, spo please don't point out the deficiencies- I know what they are but I'm functional 1st so it's good for me.
  5. Either fully shaved, or leave a landing strip, but it's your box and your preference.
  6. I do, because it's part of my employee package and virtually free, with unlimited LD almost anywhere in the world. I also prefer to hold a cordless phone for long talks with parents (when I have to, barf)or for the kids to talk to Grandma.
  7. It is surreal, but like you said it's also a new beginning. It's funny how now the "popular kids" fro HS are working 'X' at the mall when I'm shopping. I guess popularity has nothing to do with anything- HAHA. *No offense to anyone working 'X'. We're old enough that if you're not a store/regional/general manager you're one lazy S.O.B.
  8. Can you disable the passcode entirely?? Do you have an aftermarket alarm that would sound even if they use the passcode to open the door? Women can be extremely vindictive when they're angry; I have padlocks on my cigar humidors so my WIFE doesn't F*&$ them up when she's pissed. Sorry for your troubles.
  9. 1999. New '98 Sunfire with 2- 12's flush mounted into the trunk floor/wheel well with a false floor covered in factory match carpet, Infinity 6.5's in custom kicks, amp under each seat, factory HU. They tried to pop the luck but couldn't, so they broke the drivers window. Popped the trunk open, couldn't find anything, took my CDs and the sunroof switch which cost me $15 to replace from the dealer. The windw and lock were another $300. I was pissed at the cost but proud that they didn't find my gear and all that work wss worth it
  10. Holy hell those Hertz look like a great deal. c Wish I could go back in time and NOT spend over $300 on my Bostons. They're fine but sheesh there are some good deals out there.
  11. Ahhhhhh- thanks guys! Have never seen an o-ring stick to the adaptor plate before either; will check for that going forward. I wouldn;t waste synthetic on this P.O.S. disposable Dodge. It gets whatever brand name oil is cheapest at Wal-Mart. We both hate the van and and can't wait until our daughter doesn't need her stroller so we can get something a little rmsaller & nicer, or it craters, whichever comes first. My Nissan on the other hand, has had syn. oil since 5000km and purrs like a kitten at 208,000km of daily beatings. I LOVE that car
  12. So I changed the oil in the wife's 08 Grand Caravan late Saturday night. When I started it after re-filling with new oil I heard a "pop" so I shut it off and found the contents of her oil pan dribbling down my driveway. I quickly got it back up on the ramps and when I unscrewed the oil filter, both o-rings fell into the oil catch bin, completely free of the filter body. WTF? I've never seen this before- not sure if I under/over-tightened the filter or if it's a shoddy Dodge product? -Factory Dodge filter from dealer -tightened as tight as possible by hand -Pre-filled filter with oil and lubed o-ring with fresh oil to make seal -Filled engine with correct amount of correct viscosity oil Any help/opinions for future? I've probably changed oil 100 times (literally) and have never had a problem like this before. Thanks!
  13. From one newb to another, you might want to let it sit a little longer than 26 minutes before bumping. There are a TON of good guys on here- you should get an answer.
  14. I'm sortof embarrased to say IMO Colt is one of the better 40's. I'm an Olde English boy at heart, but Colt's got it on taste. (Yeah, they have 40's for sale in our igloos up here)
  15. Like the tune, but not the vid. I'm sure his parents are proud that he showed off their develoepd basement tothe world, but it doesn't scream 'baller' to me. ( I know the song is supposed to be abot a nerd so the theme fits, but his lyrics were all about growing his net worth ($20?) and getting chicks etc)
  16. I painted mine black more for priotection from rust & corrosion that looks. Every spring when I take the winter steelies off I clean'em, and apply a fresh coat by spraying into the lid of the rattle can lid and applying with a narrow foam brush. I also paint the hubs of my rotors for the same reason. Not flashy, but classy
  17. Looking for Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing compares to you"- SLOWED. Anyone have a copy they could email me? Would sure appreciate it! esplendido AT shaw DOT ca
  18. Add those videos to the Wikipedia entray for 'Doin' work' NICE setup.
  19. Cars often have room between the door itself and the door panel; spacer rings can get you the depth you need for larger drivers, and no glassing required.
