  1. Missed that part. It would be a good idea to brace the baffle. a couple dowels or some all thread placed vertically inbetween subs would be a good idea
  2. sub displacement would prolly be closer to .6 i'd imagine, but it wouldn't change much.
  3. I can help you design one, just PM me.
  4. just do a downfiring ported box.
  5. How do "professionals" spend an hour to do something like that? and $80 bucks is over half the cost it would take to do it yourself.
  6. Wood glue is not a sealant, no reason other than being lazy not to silicon or use Liquid nails. It's one less thing you have to buy lol. If you make your cuts right and use enough glue., the box will seal its self.
  7. If it's built right you won't even need silicone. just glue that fucker together and let it rip!
  8. ditch the 15's lol. get some SA 12's and put em in the trunk. call it good.
  9. download torres calculator.
  10. Big box, tune mid 30's, about 14-15 sq inches per cube of port area. 8 cubes net depending on power, of course. subs facing up, port facing the hatch.
  11. HDC3's have a very stiff suspension. Movement plays a huge role in cooling. aaand i don't feel like explaining further.
  12. hahaha "golden ear" would be in your best interests to stay away from that shop in the future. O-scope or DD1.
  13. Good luck fitting those back there in anything more than a sealed box. Your best bet is to sell those and get a pair of decent 12s or 10s depending on your trunk space. Bet they'd sound a hell of a lot better than those 15's. edit: just saw your dims. from the looks of your trunk, you're gonna have to build the box inside the trunk. you won't be able to get it out of the trunk that way. pair of 12's will sound better than the 15's you have once you build a proper box.
  14. Exo runs 4 of the 2500 watt model. It does it's power at .5 ohms. I'm not sure I personally would trust an amp that has to go down to .5 to do rated power.
  15. I got my 1k DD1'd and from where i had it comfortably set to my listening preferences, the DD1 said i was clipping at less than half that output.
  16. build a sealed box and find your peak. tune around there. i'm not too experienced with burp boxes, that's just what i've heard.
  17. only a pair of 12's? you'll want to shrink that box to about 3.5-3 cubes and no to the yellow tops. XS power is a better way to go.
  18. hifonics brutus 1700 you can get for less than 200 i think. i wish they would've had the deal on the MB quart 1500 when i was in the market i only got the 1k for that price.
  19. In my experience, a proper size ported box will usually do better than a small bandpass. 4th or 6th
