  1. I think it depends on prep. I oversprayed on my door jam when doing my doors and the few small drops scratch right off. I coated one of my tire wells with a decent coat and it's held up great. I really couldn't mar it after about a month of curing. I'll try to scratch it with like wrench or screw or something tomorrow if you'd like- though maybe the company could answer your questions a bit better. Why not use bed liner?
  2. That second vid is sick. I know things flex but when you get some distance and see his whole damn bench moving it's ridiculous, let alone the BACK of one spectators shirt flapping outside the car
  3. Why don't you swing by Myrtle Beach (actually Conway) South Carolina on your way? I can get you cheap hotel rates + I'll grill some food.
  4. Wow, sorry to hear that. I had big plans a year back and because I had blue cross/shield they kept my healthy wife and baby in the hospital for almost 4 full days and nights. We're still paying on that- the grand total came to over 10 grand just to have a normal birth. And I was paying over 100/week for insurance + sunk 3k in my deductible because my wife gave birth 3 weeks after the "new" insurance year. Seriously the government is in every aspect of our lives and name 3.. no name just 1 thing they do a good job with? Private companies give better service- the ones that suck fail- or do without assistance anyway. I went to the doctor with insurance and paid about $100 after my deductible, a few months later I had canceled the insurance and went to the same doctor. I was diagnosed with the same thing and given the same medicine. I paid 120ish without insurance, AND without paying 100 that week into insurance. I actually saved 80 that week by not having insurance.
  5. I know what you're trying to say, but the truth is it's messed up. That's like the kid from Simpsons that points and laughs when something bad happens to someone. Taking a picture of oogling someone elses misfortune is sad. Get a hobby, create something, read, but I wouldn't want to see that. If you enjoy seeing the fires and death why don't you volunteer and help instead of following them and watching them work?
  6. I fear change. It works as well on Chrome as before, not slow at all though I have a mediocre connection.
  7. Excellent buyer- quick payment, great communication. A+ For sure.
  8. http://studentoffortune.com/question/63437...d-Privatization Which class is this for? I believe I did that assignment a while back.
  9. I agree with boon, most places run a sweep at a mid volume, find your "peak" and then burp that frequency. You really have to burp one frequency at a time at near full volume to know for sure. I was told my truck "peaked at 53hz, burp there." I did crap, but then I dropped down to 42 hz, where I know my truck peaks and did quite a bit better. I'd try changing your test cd and spending a bit of time getting comfortable with the meter. The termlab has disappointed almost everyone who's used it at some point. It's not a like it's a terrible score- pretty average for a single 12 on "1200" watts.
  10. I will tell you about the only soundstream experience I have: I bought a used 10,000, hooked it up at 2 ohms, and it died before powering the subs. Everything was installed properly, I popped the cover off and it was fried. I did nothing wrong, it just crapped on me or I was screwed by the seller. I intended to buy another new one if I liked the used one enough, but I never did. The amp was a beast, but I never bought another product from them.
  11. I did something similar. People knew me as the guy with 4 18s and I just suddenly ripped it all out. Then a year or so later people will say you weren't that loud anyway, there boys got a pair of 12s about as loud or some shit like that. Just happens. Good luck, I promise the time without subs will really make you angry and miss them- and think about that sq path When you have nothing but mids you start wanting to upgrade those even more lol.
  12. Just let me know if you want the aluminum. Going at a SLOW pace, not much time spent on things but I'm trying to get them the way I want them. Pics: Threading things- long story short I had the first tap break off in the copper 1/2 way through the first hole! Shit would not come out- I used every tool available to me (drill bits, easy outs, screw removers, torch) and ended up having to get a machine shop to remove the broken off tip. Once out I bought a new bit that worked well. Work at night in the living room lol Old vs the new, like 1/8 vs almost 1/2". And 4 places to attach wire vs 12 per side. Need to hook up the other side and clean up my wiring. This will make a HUGE difference in how clean I can make things. That's just the input wires btw- the other side is for the amp to hook up. You can see how big a difference it makes on the battery lol
  13. Let me first say that you may be able to fix the problem without outside help- I would sit down and figure out where (out of what you owe) the most money is going- interest/principle. If it's going towards a high interest debt, pay that first then focus on the lower interest debt. Debt consolidation can be a good help. My in-laws dug themselves out that way. I had around 12k in credit card debt from being without work, I refinanced one of the vehicles and paid off one credit card. The amount you can save in interest if you can get a good rate is amazing- went from 2-3 years of $500/month payments on ONE card to pay it off down to $500 till the end of the year to pay off that card and my wifes car. To break it down, for a $6k credit card bill I could add it to the vehicle and save almost $3k in interest this year. I also sold my boat, a bunch of car audio stuff, and while I'm "upgrading" my system right now I still sold more than I'm buying. I did a lot of things to save money like not eating out etc, etc. and it's helped a lot. I can see it being embarrassing but everyone has their ups and downs- I made some bad investments that if they had been even a year sooner would've panned out great. I really wouldn't declare bankruptcy if you can help it- struggling to me is better than ruining an excellent credit score. Funny because as soon as all my debt is clear this year my student loans will come due
  14. Very nice! I'm waiting for the day when a package like that gets dropped off! It's funny because most pictures make the motors look a little small, but that side-by-side with the dd is nice. What's the new power looking like?
  15. meh. Sorry not my humor, but it WOULD have been funny because of your DC license plate. The Irony would have been too much.
  16. 99% of those work at home things are a scam. Especially if you have to pay an application fee or something. I thought about one once then remembered the old "if it sounds too good to be true" quote.
  17. Don't think they have one out that is easy to find. If your alt is on the passenger side with the tensioner nearby on the same side of the engine than shoot me a PM. My friend has a vehicle with that engine we're going to make a dual bracket for.
  18. Friend of a friend got me the hook up. It just takes a little while to get things in, but for free it's worth the money to wait. Anyway, a bit of work today, was pretty busy with other stuff and I realized I need a new tap. After charging all night, then sitting about 12 hours off charge. GOD I hate moving 3100s lol. It's nice to have a 3100 under the hood, but it rubs the radiator hose and just makes things a bit too cramped for my liking. Big length difference, and the 3100 sits really close to the hood. My ghetto drill press! It's an old ass "drill press" that it just a spring loaded stand you can fasten a drill into. It took so long to get set up straight I didn't have time to drill more than 1 hole lol. Drilled for battery terminal. I graphed my layout on graph paper first May not be a great drill press, but it seems to get the job done- tested it and it fits perfect Tomorrow I'll be drilling these wide bars and threading them. I should get things wired up to them and pull out the old aluminum. Honestly if someone wants the really thick bars I'd love to trade (priced them online around $100 each) for some 1"x1"x1' bars. I think they were <$40 each. If no one is interested I'll just order some.
  19. Yep, just put the aluminum on top of the copper for a better picture, the aluminum will probably go in the trash unless another forum member wants them. I'll probably use a light coat of dielectric grease or something to help prevent corrosion, once it's in place it wont get touched for a long time hopefully. I'll clean as needed, but I've had chunks of copper sitting around for months/years that didn't look bad. Pics in just a bit once uploaded.
  20. Wasn't sure what forum to post in since this isn't a question, but I'm excited and it's electrical oriented. I wanted post up some pics of the new busbars I'm working on. Got them made for free, just need to drill and thread them myself. 2 are for fuse holders, 2 are distro blocks for the top of 1 D3100. Compared to the aluminum temporary busbars I made: I think the measurements are 2 bars 3/4" thick x 1.5" wide x 1 foot, the other blocks are 1/2 inch x 3 inches wide x 6.75 inches. I'll be drilling them out tomorrow hopefully, I just have to get pics of my Ghetto homemade drill press. Also big thanks with the group buy, got my S3400 today. New from the box: After 2 hours on a 2a trickle:
  21. Just waiting for mine- only needed a 3400, but thanks for the great deal!
  22. Fi Subs, from their website www.ficaraudio.com: 10: 310cm^2 12: 480cm^2 15: 810cm^2 18: 1210cm^2
  23. I find it's better when I do what I want when I'm right, because if I do something wrong she'll complain about that -then ask why I listened to her if I knew I was right. As said be ready to compromise, you can't just walk away, and I never just walk away from an argument. Best advice I've ever had was don't go to bed angry, if you take the extra 15 minutes to get it over with you'll be happier in the morning. I never hold a grudge, it makes your marriage so much better to just let things go. Also - she is supposed to be your other half, so don't get angry if she eats the last whatever or does something that makes things easier for herself but more difficult for you: if she's your "other half" than it's like part of you getting the reward lol.
  24. I would get a new amp before considering either setup. You'll want at least the 2000 rms for a btl. If you can buy the sub + a new amp + the electrical upgrades such as a spare deep cycle battery/ new alternator than the BTL could be louder imo.
