  1. I got a ticket for burning out in my stock Mustang GT. I was in a vacant parking lot with a girl who thought her Honda was fast due to $1k+ in after market parts and it was like 6 years newer. Anyway, after burning out in reverse, then the entire length of the parking lot a bike cop stopped me. I was nice to him, so he dropped it from reckless driving to careless operation. Still a hefty ticket, though I got the points taken off in court. You can still get in trouble with word of mouth depending on the evidence.
  2. Great advice, thanks. That gets me a clear shot of the horn, but there's no way to get a wrench in there because of the washer fluid location. It's amazing that they have so much room to work with under that hood, they leave tons of empty space, but they jam that horn in there so tight you can't even disconnect the wire. Going to be a project tomorrow. I'll get pics to make this easier for the next guy. GOD DAMN I guess a lizard crawled up my pants leg while I was looking under the bumper. I kept feeling something crawling on me, had to strip down lol..
  3. I found the other horn under the battery tray, but it seems impossible to get to without major work. It's sandwiched between the washer fluid reservoir and headlights. I can barely see it at all, just the wiring going to it and feel it with my hand. It took damn near 2 hours to find feeling around. Any advice to reach this, like what the easiest part to remove would be? Thank guys.
  4. Speeding, no one thinks big of you lol. Wagging the pinky... Sad video, it certainly happens. Most people know someone something like this has happened to.
  5. That's how mine was sounding before it died lol, at first it sounded more like a honda, then the clubbed seal.
  6. Any advice on finding the horn? I read the Haynes manual and it says there is one at each corner of the radiator under the bumper, I found the passenger side one and it did have a rusted terminal. I cut the wire, soldered in a new piece entirely and shrink rapped it. I want to do the same to the other if I can find it, I just can't. Thanks for confirming that's the problem though, if there's another gank one in there somewhere that makes me feel better than a wiring issue somewhere in between.
  7. So a few months back my horn started making terrible noises. It sounded like it was dying, and with as often as my alarm goes off it didn't take long to stop making noise at all. I recently replaced the faulty horn and relay, but there is still no sound. I checked the new horn before install and it works good, I've tried 3 different relays with no success. I have an 01 Chevy tahoe and I've read where it might have 2 horns, but I can only find one. Does anyone have any advice what to try next? Thanks in advance.
  8. Or if you just have money like that. If I said I spent over $10,000 on my substage and charging for it most people on this forum wouldn't debate the cost if it was loud. Some people just don't want loud, the people who buy these speakers value sq the same way I see SPL.
  9. Stopping at a light with music cranked up is irritating as hell! I can't tell you how many times I've been at a light with my daughter asleep in back and had some dick pull up to the light with some profane crap playing. I may like to listen to it when I'm alone, but I don't want my kid hearing that stuff till she gets older. I don't want to hear it when my 70 year old mother is in back either. It's just rude and intrusive. I've owned several 150+ db @ 32hz setups, but I don't ride around saying "it's your problem I woke up your baby". I remember riding behind my fathers hearse on the way to his funeral, and having some asshole blaring his music next to me as I waited to turn into the cemetery. I will never look at people who do that the same again, I wont even say the things I wanted to do to him.
  10. Damn dude, you seriously didn't let the man make his important decision in peace!? If I was Michael Jordan my first purchase after the home would be a good fence at the street to keep people out. I just don't like to bother people regardless of what they've accomplished, after a while I'm sure it gets old having no privacy.
  11. I wont click it but alt+F4 works well most times, otherwise ctrl+alt+dlt > task manager. Just opened it in google chrome with incognito mode, didn't know it had the option to prevent a window from creating new dialog boxes, but that saved me some time I guess You're on Linux right?
  12. I get lots of steak free so it's all about the beef, I don't do ribs often. Grilling ribs to me is all about smothering them in sauce so they don't dry out. I would try a couple BBQ places and find a sauce you like best and use it at home, otherwise there are some OK ones in the grocery store. The sauce makes them, but often I use a lower heat and close the grill up to get more of that smoke flavor and get them more tender. I normally slow cook them like this and they practically fall off the bone, hope someone else has more advice. Grilled food FTMFW! I just wish it was a bit cooler so it wasn't miserable to be by the flame.
  13. No joke, I'll be with the family on a smaller plane though so I don't see there being a problem. My brother got taken aside when he went to Vegas with us. He shoved a 12 pack of energy drinks in a bag, when asked if he has soda he said "no." He was minutes from missing the flight after getting the feel-down.
  14. You sir, are a weird ass lol. No offense, but when I see someone following me I do some evasive moves, you know? I'm paranoid about that.
  15. Awesome, might have to use that in another month or so when I go to NY.
  16. MMMMMMmmm... The in-laws cooked up I don't know how many pounds of fillet though, so I'm good. I need to post pics, it looks like 4 nice roasts their such nice chunks of meat. I love knowing the head chef of a nice restaurant, we get some awesome meat.
  17. Old bastards walking around in their underwear at my moms house. FUCK THAT. Nasty bitches...
  18. Congrats, I'm sure she's excited. Still waiting for my wife to go back to full time from part time after having a kid, should make life much easier for you.l
  19. I'd focus on everything but the sub if you're looking for sq. Second Skin ftw.
  20. There are 3 locations near me and 2 of them can NEVER find what I want, one of them takes forever (like an hour to look up parts). I bought a 200a alt from them before, asked a few months later how much it would be to buy another and they told me the largest for my car was a 130 at the same location. I had to actually tell them how to navigate through the menu and I've never worked there. They argued with me that no one made a serpentine belt longer than 100 inches because their measuring stick didn't go that long - had to pull one out from my car to prove it to them. They think they know a lot about cars but when it comes down to it don't know shit. I had an employee tell me that an alternator charging at 12.2 volts was right where you want it for a 12v battery.
  21. From experience buying parts there I don't think you need to know much. If you can drive a car you should be as qualified as anyone currently employed, maybe knowing how to use a computer to attempt to look parts up.
  22. Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far. Theodore Roosevelt Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. But anger is like fire. It burns it all clean. Maya Angelou I'm just chillin' like a pube on a biscuit. Ex-coworker No shit I found a kinky black hair on a KFC biscuit today and thought of that guy lol. First time I ate there in 5+ years and I realize why now.
  23. It's two thick coats, I sprayed pretty slow each time. I'd say at least 1.5-2 mm. If one gallon treats 40sqft at 1mm, and the rear doors took 1/2 gallon that's 10ft of Spectrum each and I treated around 6sq ft, so between 1.5-2mm thick. The front got quite a bit more, but they are around 10sqft. This is on top of the layer of mat in the center of the large panels - I really think that made the most obvious difference. I did the door 'knock' test and it sounds like I'm hitting a piece of wood rather than metal. It is a really nice improvement, I'm sure more deadener would be better but I'm satisfied with the results. If it gets better than it is now I'll be very happy, the doors are a night and day difference from how they were. With as sunny and hot as it's been I was able to touch the doors within about 5 minutes, but 2 hours later it was completely dry to work with even inside the panels. It may not have been completely set, but it was dry enough to put the panels back on without disturbing the deadener. Thank you for the suggestions and the product.
  24. Thanks. I still have about 20-30ft of spectrum left, I'm going to do either my front quarter panels and tire wells, or the front floor. I need power wire and wood to get my build going, but I really want to deaden the back before throwing heavy stuff in there. Hopefully funds will get a bit better in the next few weeks so I can do both. Every time I turn around someone is sending me another bill (college/hospital etc). Must say I will make sound deadening the first step in any install from now on.
  25. Finished the front doors, review after the pictures. Panel removed, the moisture barrier on the front is held in place with tape style glue, not the nasty caulk in back. It's not as effective once it has been removed once or twice imo. Cleaning the door for installation. There's another brand "door kit" right at the speakers, it's two layers- not really bad stuff but no where near as good as the Damplifier. Covering up for the spectrum, damplifier installed. Just two sheets on the outer skin, but two good coats on everything is enough to make up for the lack of mat. Drivers door, I skipped a few steps on this because it was hot as balls and there was enough pics of the back: Made a tent to block the sun- near 100 heat index and 90%+ humidity. Final thoughts: This stuff is awesome. Pros: -Much quieter inside the vehicle- less traffic noise -Better bass response from the 6.5" driver. I was listening to Placebo and actually heard bass from my front doors, which was almost non-existent before. I had my x-over set around 65-70hz just because it sounded like crap before, just to find out it was the vibrations sounding bad, not the driver. Now I have to adjust my amp and see what I can get out of them. Solid thud when closing the door, it sounds 'sturdier' if that makes sense, higher quality. -The damplifier has such good adhesive you can not leave it in the sun because it will separate- sticking to the wax paper. I put mine in the freezer for 10 minutes before installing just to get it off the backing without issue. After you put it in place there's no chance of it coming off though. Cons: There was about an inch of solid stuff in the bottom of my gallon jugs- roughly 1/2 a quart. So one quart of unusable mass between the two jugs. This was not left sitting, this was unable to be stirred as soon as I opened the container, like it was already hardened. I tried everything to get it usable and it was just waste. The gallons weren't left uncovered and were stored in my house at 72degrees. Still worth it. Overall a great product, good service, and I will never use anything but spectrum unless damplifier becomes cheaper. It's soooooo easy to spray in door panels compared to trying to roll mat out to adhere. I can see where it's a little difficult to get even coverage on strange shaped surfaces, but it's easier to install in hard to reach places, and faster (imo) than fighting with mat. I just don't like rolling mat on.
