Poll Your System's Hardest Frequency
TheyDontWantMusic replied to quakecitystudio's topic in SPL - SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL
this doesn't seem like a very scientific poll.... "hit hardest"? my laser hatch peaked at 52Hz, but was much more impressive playing in the 20Hz range. -
dead alt...AGAIN
TheyDontWantMusic replied to Swaggasaur's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
why would you bother upgrading the alternator if you're only running a stock battery, and 2kw anyway? -
bass boost freq
TheyDontWantMusic replied to mrbodean's topic in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!
bass boost doesn't gain you anything. if the subs weren't as loud as you wanted before, then turn the gain control up, not the bass boost. -

no, he says "shit, my dick" as he's resting the sub on his lap and its 1 minute into the video for anyone who can't find it half way through... -

Radioshack SPL Meter
TheyDontWantMusic replied to MatthewMartin's topic in SPL - SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL
nope. gains seen on those cheap meters generally don't result in gains on the termlab. -
eh? the rear battery to amplifier cable needs to be fused as close to the rear battery as possible. if you're fusing 3 feet from the rear battery, you're leaving 3 feet of cable to short out and start a fire, or in the event that the cable comes loose from the fuse holder in the event of an accident. you need to fuse the rear battery to amplifier cable as close to the battery as possible.

Sub box seal keeps breaking
TheyDontWantMusic replied to bassrace's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
glue some 45 degree bracing into the corners, using wood glue! -
this is why I run my 1ohm stable amps at 0.5ohm daily.

yes you can have ports on different sides of the box, it will effect the output somewhat, but probably not enough to notice. I still don't know what you're talking about "i need 12inches of port could i have 2 6" long ports on each side of the box" if you're saying you need a 12inch LONG port, then no, you can't use a 6inch LONG port on each side of the box.
