AA Mayhem and Crossfire XS-SPL??
PowerHouse407 replied to SnowDrifter's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
yes, but with the minor changes can cause big results. Much of what we buy comes from the same place, but the difference is the testing and R&D they do to make it excel over other companies with closely related parts/build style. This may apply to crossfire, it may not, just stating a little generality so to speak. Alright makes sense. just because it make look similar there could be a difference in # or thickness of spiders type of coil flat round ect. -
AA Mayhem and Crossfire XS-SPL??
PowerHouse407 replied to SnowDrifter's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
so it seams there is a few proven sub designs and then a lot of company's putting there name on it. -
you could use ca glue maby. but stuff like that seems sketchy to me.
-
yeah that's the thing with the older boats the seats don't fold down. I would try sub up port back. and try to make it so some air from the trunk flows into the cab.
-
someone should test the dual subs they sell at walmart. they don;t seam so bad for $30 new
-
i would do subs up port back. and make a slot port across the bottom you can make a 3-4 inch slot port across the bottom 20 inches deep and that should work well you just have to plug it into a calculator and figure out the displacement of the subs so you can tune it to what you want.

that's crazy and cool!

i really want the 15s because i just love that size but i don't want to put them in a small box. so idk yet.
-
amp is still up in the air. dc 3.5k crescendo bc3500d audio pipe 3000d those for two hdc3 15s or a hdc4 18 but if a hdc3 18 i would do a crescendo bc2000d but whatever i get i will break it in with the 1600 rubicon i have.

PowerHouse407 replied to PowerHouse407's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures

PowerHouse407 replied to PowerHouse407's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Yeah i will for sure make a excellent box. and who know i might tune it to 35-36 again. and at first i will power them of a 1600 for the pair to break them in. So for this wagon i want to do subs up port back and maby make it a bottom port. and the box will be reinforce and fiberglassed. -
Best Subs For the lowsss 15" to be exact
PowerHouse407 replied to PowerHouse407's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
lol yeah i think i will stay true with AQ. and this set up will be going in a Jetta wagon and i just want to move some air. i love slowed songs so i need the lows. my single HDC3 is in a 4 cube box tuned to 35Hz and it pretty nasty right now. i think i will do 2 hdc3s on a 3.5k tuned around 32-34Hz at 8\9 ish cubes -
Ok so right now i have a AQHDC3 15 and it hits the lows Quite well talking (25hz-35hz) but people tell me they are not the best drivers for that low. So in my next build i plan on doing 2 15" woofers off of 3.5k in a 8-10 cube box tuned around 30 hz What subs would you guys suggest that will be able to take the power and not heat up on the lows. Would 2 HDC3s work or should i try something else thanks. all opinions welcomed!!!
