It wont nessecarily hurt, but it does hurt the output of your amps, your amps arent putting out as much power as they can. Id get a battery asap though.

I have the same problem, my wires were all stripped and shorting out and popping fuses, a used instrument cluster is about $100, from a junk yard. My blazer has serious wire issues though, might be something to check.

I like mine, i have a 15 and it takes my 3500 at 2 ohms all day, not sure how much its actually seeing but theyre nice subs.
