  1. What ever alt you are using for your secondary location was the factory alt for another car. If you know what car put in a request for that one.
  2. How did this work out for you. I was seriously thinking about doing a wall with 2 18's and a huge 18" round port. Everybody said it was a bad idea so I skipped it, but I still wonder if it would work. Reasoning was for constraints on sub placement and port area.
  3. They already have Inside West Coast Customs. But it would be nice for an alternative, they do have like 4-5 of the same performance mod type shows.
  4. You also have to rev your engine really high then don't peel out. If at all possible find a random guy to sit in the passenger seat to draw unneeded attention to your car as well.
  5. lol those guys do not know anything about car audio. I remember when I was younger they had a myth about subwoofers breaking a winshield. they used one huge (3 foot?) subwoofer and also had a sunroof of some sort. they called the myth busted. not sure if they understood the concept of multiple subwoofers and ton of watts. doubt they would attempt the myth again considering the cost of the myth lol I'm pretty sure they did 160 + db at 16 hz. That sounds like a few world records even today. They didn't go through the process of reinforcement and the other variables needed which is what the problem was with the episode. I've always hoped that mainstream media would get an accurate representation of this industry. Maybe this is it.
  6. HAHAHAHA. That was stupid fast. I was reading then Nates post showed up. Then -500.
  7. basics of a 4th is a sealed enclosure firing into a ported chamber (generally tuned very high). A 6th order is a ported enclosure (tuned low) firing into a ported Chamber (tuned high) Most people use a standard 2:1 ratio of chamber size being twice the size of the enclosure.
  8. Sorry about that. It is a wall, but made with a box and beauty panels. Lining up right behind the b-pillar. My main problem is how do I mount the pieces together for a secure fit. Just use adhesives? (wood glue, liquid naild)
  9. So I ordered my box design from ram-designs, however I underestimated the actual size of box and now I am forced to build the box inside the car. I have never done this and honestly have no clue where to start. I looked on the forums but couldn't find anything as far as instruction so here I am.
  10. I like how the related videos that pop up are mostly Lonely Island.....assuming everyone else sees them too.
  11. X2 final ohm load is another key factor to look at if you already have your amp.
  12. If your broke why would you trash a perfectly good working sub?
  13. I completely agree. I had a topic locked because I wanted to know the difference between a Rockford P400.4 and a T400.4. Wasn't trying to do a versus thread just looking for information.
  14. There are honestly dozens of ways to debate this topic. I would focus on the positive aspects of car audio that benefit the community and people in general. Example: I don't hang out with a ton of dumb a$$e$ (just a few). But not many of my friends can relate or understand why all the different variables are needed to put a subwoofer into a car. The hardcore enthusiasts are incredibly knowledgeable in the industry and this is a positive benefit. As far as the community, over half of the car shows that I go to are fundraisers for various organizations. Good luck on your paper. Don't try to go to lopsided on your pros vs. cons.
  15. Whenever I get into a debate as to why I am in car audio I just explain that it is just like Nascar and drag racing. It's a hobby that I invest my time and money into.
  16. I will do this. If things keep going well this car will be a dedicated spl car and no longer driven. So I really just need springs for this year. I don't really have room for a compressor, My entire cargo area is going to be filled with batts, and amps. I haven't weighed everything exactly but it's close to 1200 lbs going in from the b-pillar to the back.
  17. 92, and I agree. I really didn't want to do bags, so I was needing opinions. Problem is I don't have the tools and noone around me can help (I've checked). I was originally going to get new oem springs and have them stretched but everyone said that was a bad idea.
  18. I've checked all auto parts stores and noone can get anything for my car. Air shocks were my first thought.
  19. A few of you know I'm doing a full rebuild in my Mazda 323. Last build I needed to do something about my suspension but never did. This time I am adding an extra 600-700 lbs over the rear tires and need opinions from people who actually understand what they are doing. I didn't want to do air ride but it looks like that is the way I have to go. So, Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to get the parts I will need for bagging? Or offer any alternatives? I am trying to keep this as a daily driver.
