  1. I would like a UBL please I have 7 pages, and a lot of pictures, and I would like to have the ability to organize and explain my build as it progresses on My build log is in my signature.
  2. You know DC Audio is a good company when there is no b-stock
  3. I think a video is needed to show the difference then, even though a 6.5 db gain does sound a little nuts to me.
  4. you just said it yourself, different equipment. who knows, maybe my results were a fluke, hell i dunno. i honestly hope it is a fluke. maybe im looking for something a little different out of the o-scope, i dunno. maybe im looking for different shit out of the o-scope than what my understanding is of the dd-1. ive never said the dd-1 was junk, ive said multiple times that i think it is a great tool. but chillmasterwill saw it happen in my car, and we got quite a gain out of his 4runner using the oscope over the dd-1. maybe we are just looking at something a little different. Well maybe you should show us how you do it. Did you use the CD that came with the DD-1? (not a copy or anything else.) A 6.5dB difference is a incredible difference. What was the equipment used? If you have gotten 1000W out of your amp by setting it with the DD-1, that means you needed 4500W to get a 6.5dB difference. (that's if you have no thermal compression.) EDIT: just for fun, if you have set your gains with the DD-1, and 2000W would come out of your amp, then you need 9000W to get a 6.5dB difference. (again, no thermal compression included.) See why the 6.5dB claim is so unbelievable? I don't know if sound pressure can calculated like that.
  5. Another thing In all the videoes of Meade, I never seen him say a DD-1 is better than an Oscope, only better than tuning by ear or a DMM, actually, before the invention of the DD1, he made a video of showing how to tune an amp with an Oscope. And I haven't seen Hugh say the DD-1 is crap, he just had better number results with an Oscope, plus there's a lot of variables that can be in play. I don't know why this fight broke out in the first place, we're all adults, no need to fight.
  6. Well, I always thought the Distortion Detector was built to detect Distortion above 1% thd, which is good for looking for sound quality out of the amps, while an Oscope is built to detect clipping, so even with an unclipped signal, you could still have like 3% thd. So tuning with an Oscope to the point before clipping could possibly be a little louder on the meter, though I don't know about a 6 db difference, that's a huge jump unless you have a very dirty amp that will do rated power but at like 5% thd for example, and setting at 1% thd can make you lose a lot of power to be clean power. I like the DD-1, and I think it's a great tool, and I have saved a lot of amps from being overheat by tuning with it over the ears that tuned them. So in my view, they are 2 different tools built to do 2 different things, in my opinion You're also welcome to correct me on my statement, I'm noob that's still learning. Steve, and Hugh, I see no need to fight about this.

Well, it was from a place called donuts to go, guy there makes the donuts really good, so soft and buttery, and that's just the ones that been sitting there for a little while.

I've never been a real doughnut fan, but I found this little hol ein the wall near me that makes them so fucking good. They like melt in your mouth, but are still able to take a good coffee dunking.

  8. Derps will be derps Though had a guy tell me one time at a local show that a DD-1 is bad cause it's only good for if you were to peak at 40 hz while his oscope lets him set his amp at what his car peaks. Facepalm to him.
  9. God, nuthuggers on my facebook lol

i rather have grown to enjoy them slightly always good for some lulz

  10. Great short review I know I love mine, very well built tool, and worth every cent. Also tuned a few amps, and 2 of mine as well with it, and I do notice cleaner, but greater output as well
  11. Steve, another good thing to notice Who else has a huge youtube channel like you? Who else does clean and unique work like you? Who else is kind, and generous like you? Who else runs a successful forum this big, but yet this organized? Who else is selling extremely good products like the DD-1? You have so much going for you that you shouldn't ever let the haters put you down, you're a cool chill guy.
  12. Steve, don't let the haters put you down, that's all they are, just haters, always keep doing what you're doing because you have me, and everyone else in this community that has your back. I don't give a shit what crap other people tend to say about you, because that's all it is, just a bunch of crap. Your work, and builds inspire me and a lot of people as well, I always be your fan, and I'll always admire all the hard and unique work you put out there. I hope one day I would have the honor to meet you in person.
  13. Happy Thanksgiving SMD

  15. Set subsonic filter from 15 to 25, still sounds as good, voltage drops are less :)

  16. For those who don't have me on Facebook, I'm Thales by the way, been here long enough, so I thought I actually introduce myself. I came here on SMD to learn, and enter the world of being a basshead, and thanks to this forum, I have learned alot, I'm still learning a lot, and been inspired to do a few things on my part. I feel glad to have joined here almost a year ago, and I'll be glad to await another year of being here at SMD.
