    First amp was a 200 wrms kicker zx200.2 a few years ago: Had it on two Kicker Comp 10's in crappy sealed boxes I made, actually hit a 132! using it for mids/highs now

    Bigger wire won't hurt anything, unless it's too big to fit in your amp/sub connectors. A lot of guys use the karma ss 8ga for subwoofer wire, but some say it's a pain in the ass to strip. Any of the other knu speaker wire that is 12 or 10 ga would also work great.

    I'm sure the port is too short the way I have it drawn, I'm just kinda playing with ideas until I get everything measured up, and I can figure out the tuning and whatnot.

    Thanks guys, I think I'll stick with the 12's, as they'll probably not be in this truck very long. When i get back home I'll do some actual measurements and see how much room I have to work with. I'm mainly doing this for the building experience anyway. Instead of aeros, how would something like this work?

    I've got an re sex 12 in a sealed box, and it gets LOW! it also sounds very good, and responsive. It has lots of excursion, I'm tempted to build a ported box for it to see how loud it would get. Overall, I am very impressed with the sub. I'm sure there's some other good subs out there too, maybe a skar vvx or Fi ssd, among others.

    Here's a basic design for the box, I'm not sure on the dimensions, as I'm at college and the truck is back home. One thing I know for sure is that the box will be pretty small (guessing about 1 cube per net), what can I do to optimize the little space I have to work with? Subs will be two Skar vvx 12's. Also, would a slot port(as pictured) or an aero/pvc port be better for this small box. Thanks in advance for any help!

    I think most guys run the alt positive only to the front battery, and then do runs from that battery to the back batteries. And also put a run or two between the rear batteries. But I would wait for somebody more knowledgeable to chime in before changing anything.

    I just ordered two of the vvx 12's the other day, and I'm wondering how close i can mount them to the back of my seat. Like, how much excursion is just on the surround? I just don't want to worry about them hitting my seat.

    I've heard that for ext cab trucks the better orientation is subs forward port up, but i'm kind a noob too, so I'm not for sure, just maybe something to look into?

    What I want to do is run 4 of them off a Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700D, and i have about 3 cubes/woofer. I mostly listen to rap/hip hop, and want more of a low bass than spl. I'm not super concerned with sq, but some never hurt!

    It's a '76, I redid it with my dad for a project my freshman year. It's also the Mikado version, so it's got an automatic transmission and different badges. Gotta love the 'luv' puns, i kinda wanna get plates for it that say 'luvmchn' lol
