go with the H/O alt you will fry your amp, you dont have to get a very expensive one just one that can handle the demand

it was the fuses that went out, too bad i dont have extras

i was looking around and found a video on youtube and it showed that running extra betteries wont help since your stock alt wont recharge them properly as you play music and soon it will die on you for over working, if you go that way make sure you charge your batteries everynight so it wont harm your stock alt, also look into getting a HO alt they go for 450 a good battery goes for 359 if you need 2 of them then the HO alt would be the way to go

yes thats what i will do those Cheap RE amps arent so cheap after all they hit hard, it even turns my high beems on and my dome lights too lol

1998 ford expedition, this never happened to me before with my BZR2400. i still havent isntalled my HO alt so you think it can be because of low electrical? edit: just upgraded my audio added 2 RExtx5000.1 with 1 18' AA on each amp

just got out from work and was driving home listening to music and messing with bass, i noticed my seatbelt kept locking and after a while something smelled funny so i lowerd the music then the smell was gone. after a while i was bumping again and didnt get the smell again. once i got home i tried to close my windows and nothing so i turned off my truck and on again and still didnt work so i open the door and the dome lights fail to turn on, there must be a blown fuse somewhere and was wondering if this happens to you guys when you get loud and how often does it happen?

who says stock dont have a fuse? just because you dont see one dont mean it doesnt have one, some stock units run the wire from the alternator to a fuse block then from there to the battery. old cars had 40a alt compared to what we have now at 140a stock 250a+ after market. i would use it since the manufacturer recomends it there is a reason to why they do

i have that same cap and it does not work it just helps a bit to run my power seats, my voltage droped to 12V with just 5 seconds of music. get agm batteries, i did and now i dont go bellow 14.01v

those are pretty good numbers. the hfi dont give rated rms so maybe 150+ with a better amp. now post a video to please us here

i get no dimming with HID light

well you need to set the knob where you think you will be listening to and adjust from there. thats how i did it

why get a 200a alt when you dont need it, your car will do just fine with only the HU thats what the stock alt is good for,no it wont damage your electrical since it will only produce the amparage needed for your electrical

i wouldnt be surprised if the shop charges you 700 to do it
