  1. some people run a negative to the back and then some just ground the 2nd battery to the chassis .... then some run negative to the 2nd battery and ground it to the chassis for overkill. either will work. i have a run of positive and negative from the 1st to 2nd battery, i sit at 15.5 with my setup, mimimum voltage drop.
  2. check around on ebay bro. i know there are some alpine series going for around that price.
  3. other than the positive having a + on it and the negative having a -. the positive terminal is slightly bigger than the negative terminal. someone correct me if i'm wrong.
  4. Now i have the LVL 4 w/5 coils, i've heard nothing but good on the XLs, heck i love what i have and couldn't imagine the XLs, but that's my next setup which is two 15XLs on a AQ 3500.1
  5. i see that Louisiana sticker ........... represent bro.
  6. Something such as a good four channel 600-800rms amp will get those infinity speakers to singing nicely.
  7. put them in a good box and put at minimum 1000rms to each and you'll be good to good brotha ....... make sure your electrical is up to par too. those subs can take a pounding, i'm sure you already know that though, enjoy!!!
  8. you are correct bro. now if you are running more than 3500rms then you might want to do two runs of position to the rear. don't forget the inline fuse(s) for underhood and before the bank of batteries ...... i'm sure you already know that though.
  9. The key to minimizing vibration is a good enclosure that doesn't flex along with doubling up on the on the wood that the amp will be attached to.
  10. although i have the lvl 4 15s w/lvl 5 coils, i run a DC PAI-30001, 1500rms each and they take it like a champ.
  11. Well the radius on the 24s compared to the stock tires are the same ................ of course they are a little bit heavier ..... not much though. i just cleaned my K&N air filter and have yet to install it .......... i'll be hitting up the dealership in the morning to get a good oil change ....... and then i'll swing by advance auto and pick up some chevron fuel system cleaner and fill her up and monitor things from there. thanks guys
  12. Well after reading nourish threads on slow acceleration i figure what better place to post this. Anyways i drive an 04 Expedition .... bought it back in May 05 with 20,100 miles on it. I was getting around 430 miles on average per tank of gas (28 gallons) .... yeh i know expeditions are greedy. Well around May 08 i put on my 24s and lost around 50 miles per tank which brought me down to 370 miles on average. Well I'm seeing lower gains along in miles along with it getting more sluggish on the accelaration...... more like 330 miles per tank and i don't do that much stop and going to work. I currently have 69,900 miles on her and just changed the fuel filter a month or so ago along with adding fuel injector cleaner. I'm wondering what could cause such problems with acceleration and losing miles per tank????? The acceleration part is really killing me.
  13. no comment .......................... i got a few friends at my job here in VA from Alaska ....... i wish they would have brought the attitude you have a the N-word with them.
  14. definitely do 1/0 and you can get a good stinger 1/0 kit for around $110
  15. ported through the deck would be the only way to make it loud in that car ........ also put plenty of deadner in the trunk.
  16. sounds like your alternator isn't charging bro. that's the same problem had had a couple years back when i alternator was going out ......... i have kinetik batteries and they were sitting at 12.8 with my truck off and 12.2 while driving. now it doesn't get down to 10 degrees here in VA like you are but it has gotten down to 26 and with my new alt, i'm still sitting at 15.3.
  17. that's true but if he upgrades to a bigger amp or more amps later he'll be good to go. but as for now with only drawing 200 amps ....... yes one run of 1/0 will do.
  18. one run of 1/0 is good for around 3000-4000rms. so if he's doing over 10000rms then 3/0 if efficient.
  19. what are the power ratings on this amp?
  20. i love their headunits ................ had my HU for 7 years as of this month. Their components are nice to.
  21. if you are doing dual alts and each of them will do 180 at idle ............ i'm sure one good battery up front and the biggest you can find in the back will do just fine.
  22. well definitely get bigger power wire and knock out that big 3, hope it saves your problems but act fast before you damage something.
  23. X2 and do install a 200amp fuse inline and you should be fine.
