  1. ive got these speakers here ive already replaced the shitty 4'' speakers with some kenwood 2way coax speakers, that helped a ton, there in there own sealed pod thing what i was wondering is if i could change the bandpass box from a single reflex like this to a box like this mine didn't have the grills as a friend gave them to me, i had to do some work to em, but what u have here is a sealed box with a 6&1/2'' woofer behind the maby 3''-4'' port hole u see on the bottom, the mid at the top is in its own little plastic houseing sealed off from the other speaker i was wanting to do a quasi six order instead of a single reflex due to this box lacking lower bass, my other bookshelf speakers have the same woofers as these do, but the other ones are nicer, both have same excursion and what knot, just not really what i would like i wanted to incorporate a 2'' piece of pvc pipe to see if i can help its responce better, this woofer can get loud but the box is lacking alot, im not complaining as these where free, but just want to inprove it a little bit these are the other speakers im compareing it to they play low, and loud, best bookshelf system ive baught, still have it, and works great after 10yrs, i actually found another one at pawnshop and got it, and got another set of speakers too this is just something i want to play with, they will be mounted outside under covered porch out of weather and what knot to have decent sound outside working on stuff, im just doing this to help its bass output so will this work, the other port will be on the inside at top of box behind the 4'' coax if anyone needs me to i can take it apart to show what im talking about
  2. imo if ur happy with what u have ecept for the crackels, ied try parts express and replace the current speakers, would be alot cheaper and u have pritty much all u need if ur going on budget, in the search bar type "buyout", they have alot of stuff on there to use, i was thinking about making some big bookshelf speakers or something out of it, i mean $4 to $8 speakers works for me lol i mean its not hard to replace some speakers, just measure what size they are and wala, helps stay under the budget u previously had
  3. i base this on u haveing to move back n forth so it wont be a stay at one place for a long time thing so, why not try pawn shops? u could find something that fits ur needs and budget i guess my logitech 580 i think has 5 speakers but wired in stereo as i have no 3.1-5.1 sound card, its like a good 3.1 and carrys each range pritty good, for around $80 its worth it i think more of this is what kinda budget u want, do u want crazy loud or just clean sound with good bass, or something of that sort, theres so much different stuff that will fill the blanks its wierd like my buddy has 2 peavy b&w 18'' 3ways ran off of a old realistic amp and its amazing, but ied rather listen to my "upgraded" bookshelf system if ur budget is somewhat reasonable i would suggest getting a good 2ch home recever, some good bookshelf speakers, and a powered sub if u look at the right places u could get said stuff for around $100-$200, but that can drasticly go to $500-$800+ depending on needs, thats why i said check local pawn shops, i found some good deals, i got alot of klh speakers from pawn shop, they have pritty good sound with or without a sub but lets find out what kinda budget ur working with and we can go from there, do u want studio quality sound or something that sounds good and portable?
  4. steve must have drove by at the right time haha that was sick, how the hell did they get it to do that even if it was fake? that shit was wangin
  5. i thought i was gunna hear metal come from wind instruments lol but good tho none the less
  6. in a 3way do the mid n tweet need to be about the same place and then woofer can be where ever? i had my truck wired active and just midbass and tweet just didn't cut it, need some upper midrange up front let me see, i'll let u know tommrow ok?
  7. those "extra" super tweets do shit from what i can tell, even my bookshelf speakers have them in it and u can barally hear them, i thought they was fake till i took them apart to see they work i think pioneer's old speakers had like a 5way and maby a 7 way back in 02 i think, they where blue 3way maby with coax, but def a comp set, big difference and more power i mean panasonic made 6&1/2's that would go to 30,000htz, i cant even hear anything over 14-16khtz due to working in a furniture factory now in a home stereo setup it could work, like 3 woofers, a midrange, and tweet or like in pa speakers where u got like 2 woofers, a mid range, a mid horn, and a horn tweet, or 2 woofers, a mid range, a horn tweet, and a pezo tweet but more for sale gemmic to let the noobs think there getting something with the added $30 in "super tweets", mostly people who u hear with alot of trebel and bass i dunno
  8. im wondering if the summer heat is doing this to alts cause mine in winter charges in high 14's, and now its charging at 13.4-13.8v, nothing higher ive even tried the old putting water in my battery to help and nothing helps, even with 2 batteries would u say alt is bad or due to bad weather? if it goes bad i'll get a mechman alt, u prolly remember me, i got a 99 tacoma v6, 70amps does shit for my system sorry to thread jack, but im haveing the same problem with 2 batteries, big 3, and 1000wrms, this shouldn't happin lol
  9. i would say 80% install 20% equipment thats how my system is, a good built box with 2 10's make people awe with there prefab stuff shops just throw together cant wait till i do my new box for my 15's i dunno but that one song had the whole shop rattleing today, even the damn table saw lol if i was u ied play around with that box, could get it louder, im all the time playing with my box to see what sounds the best, downfires are loudest in my truck
  10. whats ur best price shipped to 28645 im interested but not 100% yet
  11. http://www.wimp.com/combinesoccer/ looks cool, something i might watch on tv ied like to see alot more combined sports, would make some games not get boring, kinda like gold kricket or something lol
  12. with a bandpass like that, how do u change the woofer if it happens to blow or what have u? i wanted to try a bandpass for my 2 8's, or a tapped horn but i dunno how to do those i got some 8's im gunna use in a 3way setup for the shop, 8'' midbass/sub, 6'' midwoofer, 2'' mid tweet,1'' super tweet any ideas on how to do the 8's? the other speakers are in there own boxs, just the 8's i dnt know about, i want good amount of output but a more even sound stage if u know what i mean work shop prolly 80 give or take feet long, about 20-40ft wide, 10-12ft high, im gunna have more speakers on a speaker switcher also, just want these for now to play with how much do u cost to design a box?
  13. imo ied run em to the front battery and then just add another run of 0guage front alt pos to battery pos to help with current flow i think with 4 runs of 0guage that battery is getting drained faster than charged so 2 runs of 0guage could help from what i remember the more runs helps with resistance, but with 0guage car audio wire vs powerlines, the insulation is what dont let the wire handle as much so when it gets hot it cant disapate heat as good so it goes to affect the resistance in the wire, thats why they rate 0guage car audio wire @ 300amp, but with power lines for example, there rated at around 15kamps or so with same or smaller wire, this is due to air cooling the wire, my buddy took a bunch of it out of a building he baught, its like 1'' to 1&1/2'' around pure copper wire, but not as much insulation as the wire we use has, so can do more with less but ya, ied just help the alt charge the front battery than put the wires on the alt, u can do about the same with another run of 0guage and do the same while charging front battery, gives u some resurve capacity vs just alt power when cars running i hope this makes sense
  14. when are we gunna see u use this on the t15k's in the hoopty? would be cool what it would sound like, but if i remember u set it with ur o-scope? anyways, im gunna try n save me some $ and pick up one of these
  15. mtx had a archive website for all there older woofers, thats where i got the pdf for my mtx 8000's i got a 10 just like you have, ive ved it a good 250-300rms to try n blow it and it took it lol now its just put up my buddy had a set of the 8'' i think road thunders and he was feeding them 300rms in a sealed box, sounded good these subs would do good for 100-200rms, maby more in the bandpass box ive owned quite a few mtx subs threw the years, there a good brand
  16. never smoked a pipe yet, but like machine and hand rolled cigars hand rolled the only ones ive really tried and liked where isla del soul corona, a good mild and sweet cigar, lasts a good while also machine made from best to ok hav - a - tampa jewl sweets = great smooth mild smoke with a sweet tip, good cigar for work and comeing home from work black and mild - whine with wood tip = good fresh smoke with great flavor, good for when lounging around swisher "blackstone" cherry plastic tip = good everyday cigar, great taste, smooth flavor al capones every once in a while, to damn expencive filtered cigars i like prime time, either a grape/cherry or berry i dont smoke to much but when i do i like one for a while
  17. hahahahah, when did flavor flave become a pyrotechnic hahahahah "There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, 'GET DA' WATA' NIG*UH'!'" Exodus 1: 2-3
  18. $30 shipped for ballasts and bulbs? lol, might put em in the lawn mower
  19. lol, sounds good but i dought thats 25w tho, maby 200w, if its 25w its clipped all to shit to get em to do that, thats at least 150rms to each sub, even @ 8ohm but anyways good setup none the less alpine amps are underrated, my friend had a alpine but i forget what model it was but it did 700rms @ 2ohm, i think it was the 450 or something like that, good amps i think
  20. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=12+volt+neon+transformers&_sacat=See-All-Categories thats all i get, but ya im gunna tape the hell out of these when they get here, ive had some cheap studio 54 neon lights from walmart that are pretty bright for what they are, and these are 48'' and 36 i think, i might mess around with it sometime later on this week only transformer i can find is like the old one i had and it shorted out real bad when i had these lights on my honda, a friend of mine gave me this transformer maby i can get it to work i dunno, but i ordered those lights, they are $40 shipped from ebay, i'll see if local shop might have one of those transformers, now that most of everything has went to led its hard to find these things, and most people dont like underbody lights but mine looked sick as hell i think, looked like a black light
