Speaker Parts
tacomabanga1986 replied to Forevrbumpn's topic in For Sale: Car audio related equipment only
ditto and 10'' w0 and how much for i guess 4 terminals? and if i have to due to rubbing issues, what kinda setup do u have to recone a 2.5'' coil sub with? well there not rubbing but when i really push em it sounds like the vc hits the former, the way the spider is in the pasket its open on back side and i guess air comeing from the back wave is pushing on the spider makeing it move the vc and it hit the side of the former or some shit like that these are the subs that i might recone if i have to, and if i can i want to keep em to either d2 or d4 500rms each http://www.vminnovations.com/product_3154/SOUNDSTREAM_VGW_10_2000W_10_Inch_Subwoofers_Subs_Pair_Refurbished_.html lol, how much 2 referbs are i could just replace em lol, but lemmie kno on those terimanls mang, and my 12'' w0 and 10'' w0 still work fine but have shit surrounds, i might can cut the dust cap off and shim it then put some back on, u aint got just reg surrounds do u? -
more pics of the eclipse amp? and how big is it measurement wise? and pics of those efx batt terminals too what can u do that amp for shipped to 28645 and how many watts is it? and do the hertz tweets have the angle mounts with em? ied replace my polk tweets with these, how do they sound or are they new?

well a few yrs back when i first got into car audio, i think it was crutch field that sold wireing harnesses that all u had to do was plug it into ur factory plugs and then into the back of the headunit and u was done, no need to wire to the plug that came with the deck, u just put what car u got, adn what deck, and it shows u the connector and that was all ied try to find pics but i dont remember what they called em but they would be a good thing for starter noobs so they dont fuk up factory wires cutting shit, heres a pic i think, they had em for alpine, clarion, kenwood, pioneer, sony, and a few others, they sold the instalation kit with this wireing plug like u see in the pic, i just wished they still sold these, would make shit alot easier

i wonder what the square one would do? everyone i seen run a jackhammer in a setup was a dumb shit and yes i do mean mtx too, that plexi box looked like it had no where nere the port area or tuning, they prolly tuned it higher so it wouldn't shake it apart, and that "160db" they got was prolly helped out a shit ton from the 4 mtx 8500 10's for "mid bass", ive owned a shit ton of mtx speakers and ive got good output from every one of em, i especilly liked that mtx 7000 i had, and for it to have half the spider loose from the vc and be 8ohm it still wanged like hell mtx aint that bad of a company, but there trying to be like audiobahn n shit, i unno who was first to make bigger than 18'' speakers but i still think audiobahn is the only one that still has a 36'' "10,000w" sub i think there more twards looks now than quality, i kno for damn sure there oldschool subs was kickass this is the sub i was talking bout http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/archive/thunderSub7128.cfm and i think they made the jackhammer on the rfl's principle, more of a burp sub than a music, someone said on here they tried to run 2 rfl's in a setup n said they was shit on music, and they had one at the pawn shop and either it has hella stiff spiders or this one was blown

x2 ^^ i think darvex is alot cheaper than most shops i go to to get shit, and u can get a 20% discount off just by being a member of smd, some of the stuff u buy is a good price i just wished he still had those stinger sp800 battery holders cause i needed one n i had money to buy it so i guess since im takeing welding i can just make me one but ya darvex is a good site to buy stuff off of

i heard that the sub will over exurt itself tring to reproduce freq's that it normally would want to ina reg ported box i wonder if this varies between different types of bandpass's kinda like a reg 4th order or a 6th order? i wanted to try and make a tline 6th order bandpass box to see what it sounded like, i knew it would be big as all hell but wanted to see if it would work theres all kinda of bandpass boxs, and yes they have a different affect on subs too, i got one off a buddy to try it and i put my 2 audio bahn 12's in it and i could not hear any bass at all, i changed phases and that made no difference, the box was moveing around on the ground but i got no acual output from it, it was one of those prefabs tho

maby focal pollyglass? there only $80 each and for the other price u could almost run 4 of em for the same price? http://www.woofersetc.com/p7133/6V2--Focal-Polyglass-65"-Midrange-Speaker.htm ive heard good things about image dynamics too http://www.woofersetc.com/p7176/CX64-V2--Image-Dynamics-65"-4-ohm-Midbass-Drivers.htm what kinda budget u looking for? do u want midbass enough to not need a sub, or midbass enough to help blend the sounds in with the subs? my friend had 6&1/2's in each door and 8's in this kicks for midbass then 3 12's in the trunk, it was loud but u kno how that is -
active can yeld a better sq cause u can change the cross over points that the speakers use vs what the factory sets them do and make them take more power and what knot but to run active u will need some sort of active network to let u run 2 channels high pass for tweets and the other 2 channels band pass for mids, an imprint will do this i think, or u can get a 3way inline cross over network to adjust it for u, but its time consuming to adjust tho, my pioneer has it built in so when ever i get a good 4ch amp im going active, im gunna rewire my coax to run the tweets with the comp sets tweets and mids with comp sets mids and what knot
-
why not run the mb quarts off the front channels and the kenwoods off the rear channels? unless u are trying to run active or something ied run a 4ch amp as a 4ch amp, i got a comp set and a set of coax ran off a 2ch amp and it sounds great too, 4ohm comp set and 4ohm coax = 2ohm stereo load but each amp is different on how it reproduces its sound, the best amp that i got that works good with midbass and all is my memphis pr150.2, my hifonics was good and clean till it took a shit after me just playing it, and my sony 4ch just doesn't do justice to what my memphis amp does, its always had a fuller midrange sound than my previous amps in the past and still gets loud and clean but if i was u i would run the mbquarts in the front and the kenwoods in the back and wire the quarts to the front channels and the kenwoods to the rear channels and adjust the sound to kinda blend it, u want the better speakers were u will be at mostly so u can hear it if this is a car what i would do and am prolly going to do when i rebuild my geo is put 1 of my comp sets in the back deck and mount the tweets in the center break light houseing, its worked befor with cheap tweets and coax's so it should do fine this go around but its just an idea good luck with getting everything set up and what knot

i got tired of dimming headlights so i got hids and never had a problem with dimming headlights ever again, ecept some on guages and shit but thats normal the better ur electrical the better u will be but u got a bigger alt than i do also, i only got a 70amp alt, but i got big 3 in 0guage, upgraded front battery and a stinger sp800 rear battery, all 0guage wire and only running 1000rms and my lights dim a lil bit and i dont go no lower than into the 13.5v range, but its not nere what my geo useto be, hell when i had my mtx 500d wired to 1ohm wich is a 2ohm minamum amp, every time the bass hit my lights would dim so bad they would cut off, then the car wanted to cut off also lol, dunno what im gunna do when i put a real system in it tho lol good luck with your system mang, i think u can run up to 1000-1500w depending on stock electrical max with stock and not really mess anything up, u will loose efficiency but the beefier the electrical the better

around here its the other way around lol still a funny vid tho

they was someone that posted a folder with almost every make and model of car that had all the wireing colors and speaker sizes and were to find the wires and what knot and i got it but it was on my old comp and i dont have it anymore but would love it so if i ever have to wire in a alarm or something i wont be suck in the dark not knowing wtf wire goes to what, it helped alot in my bro n laws blazer when someone stole the cdplayer out of it i put in it and cut all stock wires so i had to go from scratch, i unno if its a shop type thing they can only get or what, hell ied pay for it if i had to, would come in handy alot

i dont want to throw the kid a flip but ive worked on a few automobiles that had factory amps that when u get a aftermarket harness that it will plug into the wires comeing out of the amp cause i had this problem with my buddies tundra were all i did was unhook the wires out of the amp and plug it into it and ive heard mixed emotions about running deck watts threw a factory amp that it would cause them to go out after a while but i have never done it so i dunno i myself have rewired all my speakers in my setups due to i changed out factory but thats just me but i would try and run it threw the factory amp cause i think how bose does is that its amp have a somewhat active circuit built into the amps so it will send a high pass to the tweets and a somewhat bandpass to the mids and so on so i think thats why most people do it that way anyways cause some stock bose speakers do sound pritty good with aftermarket decks so i say go for it i doubt u will mess up ur deck by hooking it to the stock amps, its just a lil bit more wireing tho good luck with ur second deck install, u will only learn more after this one, ive went threw a few decks learning in the past, just glad they wasnt expencive ones lol, first one was a road gear from walmart, i grounded out the speaker wires and fried it but ive learned not to do that now so its all gravy now i only been doing this for around 10yrs or so, and i learn something new everyday, and this site has helped out my noob syndrome a shit ton lol, wished i could have found this site a long time ago tho

ear wax candles dont do shit at all, i have a large amount of earwax buildup in my ears from time to time and i have to get some peroxide and squirt it in my ears and then suck it out with a ear bulb and what knot when i was lil and till i got layed off from work ied go once a yr or twice a year for earwax buildup and they use a vacuum to suck it out and i can hear pritty damn good after that but now i halfto wing it with some oldschool remedys and what knot but ya it could be either ear wax problems or u just hurt that freq range in ur hearing also, i think the bad earwax problem i got is why i aint deaf yet did u go to that site were steve went for his hearing and dog? i cant hear that good but i think it depends on the quality of headphones or speakers and the freq range they reproduce on if u can hear it or not but anyways hope u get it fixed, i hate not being able to hear shit, and when its really quit in a room and im trying to concentrate i would get mad ringing in my ears then it will go away
