I don't know if I would ever use JL's for competition, because they aren't designed for tremendous power or higher tuning frequencies, so a tuning of 30-37Hz would be optimal for those dub 7's. I think the JL-brand boxes are tuned to around 30Hz for the W7 series.

That thing is SWEET! I know that dime HAS to hit hard....all that boom in a little cab ;D I have an S10 also...very cool trucks! Are the jump seats and side panels taken out on yours? 10.4 cubes is pretty nice out of an ex-cab. I'm looking to do 4 12's or something cool like that. Never thought about squeezing 18's in there though! Oh yea, VIDS VIDS VIDS!! Please.

For the alarm guys
geekepunk replied to geekepunk's topic in Security Center - Car/Home Alarms, devices, tactics, tips....
well, actually I think I found what I may need. The Fluke website has some clips that work for what I'm doing. I'm going to look at grainger also. It was an alligator clip with a piercing probe in the jaws. -
I'm going to put an alarm on my truck and am looking for those alligator clips that pierce into the wires for testing. They hook into a Fluke meter cord and such. I'm pretty sure I used something like it back when I was installing. Just to make it easier when I'm probing wires and figuring out what it what. If anyone knows where I can find the probe piece let me know. Thanks!

X2 on the Eclipse unit! Although I don't think Best Buy carries Eclipse, dunno about Circuit Shitty. Uhhh, check out the Alpine and Pioneer units though. Most of those can't be beat for quality. -

Crutchfield deals.
geekepunk replied to Eddy722's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
You must be kidding? Crutchfield isn't that bad... The prices are usually close to what oher retailers might offer. You get a warranty and they throw in lots of extras with your order usually. -

Yea, Bush hasn't done too bad despite the fact that he can be dumber than a doornail at times. I liked his approach to 9/11 and his fight against terrorism. The high gas prices and all the rediculous airline/TSA bullshit kind of torqued me. The war is kind of stupid, but they are rebuilding and making headway. Getting rid of Saddam was a real good thing! -

I worked at Best Buy a couple years ago installing and doing the whole salesman thing part-time. We always had tons of crap ass cars in the bay... I worked in a few that just REAKED of dog urine and crap. TONS of trash all over the place...yada yada yada. I had to empty a full trunk one time and try to fit all the garbage and customers junk back in with the subs and amp. Oh, and I've found all sorts of different *illegal* substances stuffed down seats or hidden up in the dashboards. LOL anyway, those were good times!

Well, looks like your not alone on that one Ernesto. A week after I bought my S10 with 50,000 miles, the EXACT same scenario you described happened to me twice! And it happened in the same place--at a stop sign near my house, fairly hard braking too. Checked battery connections and stuff (everything looked ok, !knock on wood)....new fuel filter, clean air filter, injector cleaner. Hasn't happened since. Regardless, I was a little weirded out.

Hell yea E-40 is the best! First album I had of his was Charlie Hustle and that was back when it first came out. After that I previewed all of his other albums and tracks. His music is going around the forums like Late Nite Tip did.

I'm going to sell my pair of JL Audio 12" W3v2's pretty soon. They are in superb condition..very minor blemishes and scratches. All boxes, manuals, stickers etc are included. I'll have a pictures link when I remove them from my truck. If anyone wants them please make an offer, even though alot of guys on this forum are into the "big woofers", still thought I'd ask here first. Ebay comes next. Thanks!

moms car crash
geekepunk replied to Amalan's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Glad your mom and everyone else is ok! Air bags probably should have deployed on the nissan. Weird. Also, about the broken nose thing--I know at least one person who had her nose broken by an airbag, probably doesn't happen that often though. Also, when I walk around my buddies tow yard I see all these blood-stained airbags in vehicles...sheesh, makes me hope that I never have one pop out in my face, although is would be for the better!!
