  1. hes not walled anymore..single dd sub now Yes, i know,
  2. I think you are over thinking it. Or you are messing with us, Considering you walled that mustang i would lean towards the latter
  3. The title of this thread scared the crap out of me lol. I'm with slammin beats on this one.
  4. Oh, i see how it is, you just need to convince yourself to skip a step. lol Just kidding, I do that all the time. I'll Ask my wife, "should i do this, this way, or just do this this other way? Cause one is way harder and the other would probably work just as well..."
  5. Of course go with the grain. But you probably know that. Just feel guilty if i don't say it
  6. if you do it by hand you could start with 80, otherwise that stuff will eat that birch for lunch!
  7. Put the laptop under your mattress? Just hide your stuff till you can get your own place or see if another family member will take in you for a while. If she is this far along in her dementia then she needs to be in a place where she can get proper care. Sorry if that came across as cold, not my intention, Just trying to help.
  8. What do you mean "tell them" to multiply your area by height? take the area of the base (or in this case the side) and multiply it by the height (width in this case) in inches, save the conversion to cuft at the very end, till then, its easiest to keep it all in inches.... The area is given in square feet, not square inches (at least for me). So keeping it in inches till the end would involve converting to square inches, and then converting to cubic feet at the very end, rather than just converting inches to feet once. Also, calm the fuck down. There's no reason to calculate it manually, when you have a tool like sketchup, that's just a stupid waste of time. And it works just fine, you're taking the inside volume of the box, no need to take wood thickness into account... Just quit running your mouth, you're making yourself look like an idiot. yeah, im saying how to use sketchup the same way you are, but this jackass isnt seeing that. Sketchup for me keeps it all in inches till i tell it to do feet. Easier to work in inches for me That's funny, you never once mentioned sketchup until you got called out. I never said "don't use sketchup" on the contrary, i actually agrred with that method. Why are you so angry? I am not posting here anymore since this question has been answered. Peace out.
  9. LOL, that only works on uniform boxes dork mcgee, This is an irreglular box, so short of dunking it in water ala "Archimedes" you have to either use a tool like sketchup or break it down. ummm, yeah, since his box is the way it is, you can take the area of one of the sides, multiply it by the depth of the box (in inches) then divide it by 1728in, which is 12inx12inx12in to convert it to feet. If youre talking about boxes with different depths on the top and bottom, measure a side and the same rules apply smartass. You can use sketchup to get the area of the side, or you can not be a lazy fuck like you probably are, grab a fucking paper and pencil and a ruler, and do some math to figure it out. But apparently youre too fucking lazy. Doing what you said wouldnt work anyway, it would give the Gross Volume, not even taking the thickness of the wood into account in this situation. It is assumed you don't figure the wood thickness into the equation, only internal dimensions. And if you will take notice the box has a 45 degree angle in the middle therefore your method wont work. edit. I do want to add that yes area X depth will work, but you can't just do "X" x "Y" to get the area of a trapezoid like you make it sound.

  11. Just divide it up into the largest square/rectangle shapes as possible, figure the volume on those. then figure the triangles left over. for the triangles it's (base X height) / 2 then X width for area.then add triangle volume and the other one from the squares edit. dont forget to subtract the port.
  12. Just twist them up real tight. Make sure the strands are all cut the same length. If you still have problems throw the wire in the freezer for a couple hours it will shrink and then it should fit. You can also get lugs that just have a round pole piece that you can solder your wire into and then put that in the terminal.
  13. They don't seem to bad but their rated 60 watt rms, thats what my cadences are rated right now no, they are rated 90 watts, I'm giving them more than that and they take it fine. I'm not talking about the coaxials i'm talking about the components.
  14. I like the infinity refrence 6030cs line. Amazon has them for around $100 bucks shipped. The tweeters are a touch bright but nothing too bad. Plus the read 3.2 ohms so you get some extra power from your amp. They play loud too.
  15. it rest at 15.0 when it works but it drops voltage under acceleration So does it do it when you just rev the engine when it's in park/neutral? If it only does it in gear i would look real close at connections because your engine will twist a bit on the motor mounts and it may be pulling a wire causing a bad connection.
  16. I guess you could start by checking that voltage regulator, What is the normal charging voltage? Also, does it drop voltage right after it shifts gears? If it does then it might just be a bad connection. Just some ideas.
  17. lol, last night i was setting off 4 of those big arse cannon things at a time. Lit the first one, second wouldn't light, wouldn't light, wouldn't light. then BOOOOOM!!!!1one two feet away. Man my right ear was like RIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGGG!!!!1ONE11!. Safety first!
  18. Only other thing i can think of is i used to have fuses too, my dryer would run but put out no heat. Found out that the main had a leg burned clear through and i only one leg of 220 coming in, so 110 was all i had. The dryer motor would run but the heating element must have been 220 so it wouldn't work. So maybe check the main fuse and disconnect. Other than that i have no idea, if it was just frozen up the blower should still run so i guess thats not it
  19. Flaming smoke bombs in a plastic bucket. /facepalm. That was funny as hell man. Maybe try it with windows up and see where it leaks out. Then you could seal that sucker up better and gain a db or two. lol
  20. Hopefully all it did was fry that diode. could be a cheap and easy fix for an experienced person. Good luck man.
  21. So I starting piecing together some stuff for the wife's car. Just a bunch of old stuff that i have laying around. I don't know how far i will go with this because the car has 260,000 miles on the ticker. Anyway I have a Polk Audio Carbon Series 500.1 for the lows running to a Pioneer TSW-302R 12" sub in a 1.25 cuft sealed enclosure made of 1" mdf. I do have to say that the response curve is crazy flat on this thing. The sub does kind of get a bit sloppy under 30hz but it is just 150watt el-cheapo pioneer. The head unit is a Sony Explode can't remember the model number. I am really surprised by this sub because it takes most of what that amp will give it, I made sure to set gains with the dd-1 and since i am running the stock speakers off the head unit for now i can't quite go to full volume on the head unit. It seems the pre-outs distort at about 37 and i can go to 35 before i notice enough distortion in the stock speakers to make me stop turning the volume up. Once i set the gain on the amp i never got a distortion light so i think it has some left in it. Of course running like this the sub bottoms out at about 30/35. No biggie though because the wife runs the sub level at about -5. Anyway, here are a few pics, and a spoiler, I already ordered some new subs for the Accord and once they are here i think the kenwoods will go in this car. This one 12 already does a great job so I am anxious to see what two decent 12's will do. I put in a run of 4ga for the power. I used those copper lugs you get at Napa but i took the grinder to the flare at the bottom of it so it looks better once the shrink tubing is on it. Blurry pic is blurry I got this for trade on a Sony Xplode 50x2 amp. Ignore the wires, That will all get tucked away because i will probably mount the amp on the side of the box. Like i said, this build is just so i have some tunes when i drive her car. She is not a bass head and that is just too damn bad because i could have so much fun with this car if she was! Please comment and leave feedback. It's appreciated.
  22. Just cover all the walls and ceiling with it. It helps, but unless you gut your room and get crazy the sound will get out.
  23. You could try this stuff, not real expensive but not real cheap either. https://www.google.com/search?q=eggshell+foam&hl=en&safe=off&rlz=1C1_____enUS477US478&biw=1266&bih=611&prmd=imvns&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=23zyT-6aCMjjqgG54ZXzBg&sqi=2&ved=0CHEQsxg
