Its a planet audio 1500 mono not a good amp i know and its in a nissan altima and it doesnt just turn off at high volume it turns off once you turn it past like 5 and the loudest i put it at is 25 and yes the paint is sanded off where its grounded and it has been hooked up for probably about a month now and it just started a few days ago and the subs are rockford prime 12s 8 ohm sorry for the lack of information before guys and thanks for any help. And the subs are wired down to 4 ohms

So my amp works when i first turn on the radio at low volume then when i turn the volume up the amp goes into protect mode but if i turn the head unit off and back on again then the amp will once again work at low volume and when i turn it up goes into protect. Any ideas of what this problem could be?

Try hooking up another speaker to the amp, or try hooking the speakers up to another amp or a home stereo or radio or something just to see if they work, also I'm sure you already checked the rca cable and speaker wire.

Alright thanks man i have an old school rockford 500 power series mono amp with two kicker comps and was gonna get two obsidians so ineeded a little more for those and wasnt real sure about mephis so just thought id check and make sure.

I have the diehard gold under my hood and the other battery i have i am not sure of the brand it doesn't say on it but it says its agm i got the battery out of a car at my dads work (repo place) the car had a huge system in it and the battery was in the trunk so i took it because the people left the car and didnt have enough money to get it out

Yeah the battery i have is an agm. And i was talking about a voltage meter. But how often would i need to charge the battery?

Okay i just read something that adding a second battery is hard on your alternator and will eventually cause it to break and just wanted to see if it was true or not because i have a second battery just wasnt sure if i should put it in or not

I was thinking about adding an extra battery to my truck for my system but if i add a second battery is that bad for my alternator and would i need to upgrade that too, or would just adding a second battery be fine?

Lol I was talking about the bass in the song hahaha but i think you might be right with it having something to do with the box because i hooked them up in my truck just to test them and they hit the higher bass but nowhere near as good as mine do and this was running off the same amp and same settings on the amp as mine only difference was the box but on my friends amp and in his car the speaker is moving like its trying to hit these tones but no noise comes from them.

These are my friends subs and i dont mean trying to get highs through them but on songs like the motto it doesnt hit that kind of bass and thats what he wants

I have two cvr 12s in a sealed box powered by a 1200 watt Sony amp and I can't get my subs to hit higher frequency bass but it hits lows fine. How could I fix this?

How does this sound? I was thinking about doing something like this with my single cab truck because i want more bass but not much room for it on the inside and wasnt sure if i should go through all the trouble of doing something like that or not.
