  1. Hell I'd donate if I wasn't a poor white kid. I wanna see this shit. I wonder if there could be any legal argument of false advertisement on the amps that don't even do half of what the manual says...
  2. Just got back from the neurologist. New medicine. Cool. Yay.

  3. I love it when people use passive crossovers and have a creative place to put them instead of right next to them amp or hidden behind the door panel. Makes me wanna reconsider running active.

I prefer active too, pick whatever crossover works best, separate gain control(-0 for tweets,-5 for midbass for example), and less wiring mess.

Actives works well in my case cause if I wanted passive, I would have to build my own x-overs lol

Exactly, active allows me to dial back my tweets on certain songs more then just the -3db most xovers offer. I have my tweets on rear channel so I can actually use the fade on my H/U to bring them down on certain music.

      Active... love control....

  4. Well, my cognitive therapist says I'm showing signs of improvement. Huzzah.

  5. Technically, I had a Dual bandpass box that was amplified. It served it's purpose and definitely added to the music. But as far as a REAL amp and not a box combo, mine was a Rockford Fosgate R600-5. Nice and simple. Worked great. Had it wired up at 4 ohms (60w x 4) for the full range and 2 ohms (300w) for the subs. Definitely planning on sticking with Fosgate amps.
  6. Out of curiosity I googled "irish metal bands" and discovered Celtic metal. This shit is brutal. Definitely not what I expected when I read "death metal meets irish folk music"

Not even wanting to. I normally don't get caught up in subgenres, because then you get into subgenres of the subgenres, and so on and so on. It just wasn't something I was expecting to see. It's all rock and roll to me.

      Viking Metal is just hilarious.

Indeed. Some Celtic is too, but some...

  7. "From an engineering stand point, this is pretty incredible." See! There's just something about bass!

  8. Experiment. Was using these as computer speakers til they blew. So I replaced them with this, powered by the stereo the last speakers came with. And even tuned the box (literally) to 32hz. Surprisingly it worked out to 1cuft and a toilet paper tube was the perfect size. Sorry for massive pics.
  9. Today I rode in a Chevy Express van, and all I could do was lstare at the back and wonder how many speakers would fit in it.

Still wish most of my posts were more productive than the random picture post, but I guess that's what happens when you don't have a car. =/

  11. Watched the vid last night. I haven't seen such a shoddy job in my life, man. Awesome of you to set your friend up with the system he should've had in the first place! I do have one question. What all goes into setting up the .3 besides just crossover points? I saw your vid with the 6 mic array and I downloaded the software just to mess around with it, but I'm guessing it's gonna take getting the processor and tinkering around with it in a car to really get a feel for it. Oh, and I give my thousandth post to you, my good sir.
  12. Maybe one day most of my posts will be in a build log instead of the random picture post.... But I doubt it.

Wasn't really going for the chrome look. Was going with the black ones:http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/BigPic.jsp?wheelMake=ATX&wheelModel=Crawl&wheelFinish=Flat+Black+Painted I'm considering the smaller ones though. Right now it's just some ideas until I get the truck, but I'm planning on a Silverado.

  14. You never realize how dumb some of your friends are until they tell you they used cable tv wire as their amp ground.

I've never heard of anyone doing this shit. It's only a 400w amp, but still.

I've heard of 120v house wire used as power and ground, but coax wire is scarier lol.

Met a kid today using 2 extension cords. one for power and ground, one for speaker wire for his 12 inch Duals in a prefab band pass

The plan so far (if I end up with the money) is 6 Mayhems on 6 2500s. Dunno what vehicle yet though... How do you like yours so far, Ken?

    3. Kyblack76

      Kyblack76

That (ken can vouch) was my plan. Not 6.

That's a believe it before I see it. But. That was my plan. Minus your 2

    4. Herokight

      Herokight

It'll be ways off. I don't even have the vehicle, so I'm not even in the planning stage. more like the dreaming stage. Haha. I'm going more for demos than numbers, although a 55 would be amazing.

  20. In for results on this, and the revamp of the Caddy. As soon as that kick ass Chevelle install is finished.
  21. It still saddens me that the vanity plate I want will probably be tuned down by the DMV no matter what I tell them...

  22. Sweet! All the new SMD products should be out by the time I can drive again and get a new car! I'm in for results on what kind of UV lights work. Being that it'd be pretty damn hard to get adequate sunlight into a wall.
