i would avoid the electric blower . LS isn't a bad option you can get a "LQ4"motor from a late model 1500 pickup that is essentially a cheaper version of the LS made of iron instead of aluminum, but you may encounter many issues with clearance and fitment to do with the accessory drive or oil pan , good old 350 might be an easier conversion , of course it could be fun to play with that 3.4 a little bit as well maybe find 1or2 turbos from a salvage yard used and fab a pipe , bigger injectors ?

http://www.parts-exp...tnumber=293-656 but between the 2 subs listed that is a tough one , i have wanted to experience the w6 for a while , but i think the fi is probably built to be more robust when pushed hard

the specs of the tc sounds are impressive to me . specifically how low the frequency response is on a couple of them

Jasper Circle Jig $40?!!! Seems expensive!
b-dubs89 replied to HunterJohnson's topic in Fabrication, Fiberglass, Etc
the hard part of making a circle jig to me would be figuring out where to put all of your holes . i have made my own circle jig out 2 peaces of flat steel . i was looking around rockford fosgates web site and found this a while ago http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/shop/shop.aspx?purl=https://secure.rockfordcorp.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=12005&sitex=10105:54419:US -

assuming the numbers are good , it probably comes down the amp designs and components used to make the amps .class d amps very from one to next . most of them you see have a slug of mosfets and then you look at an mrp-m500 and it only has like 8 total some amps have more capacitors inside than others , . there are many factors in play with how an amp performs and i wish i could tell you more but i am learning myself . you should check out some amp guts and maybe you notice some differences from one amp to the next

the cyl misfire code is the one i dread the most because it can be caused by anything from intake seal , head gasket ,compression , injector , ignition , timing and probably a lot other things as well . i had a vehicle with a missfire and i started by checking the pcv , vacuum lines ,looking at wiring for anything obvious , switching wires from a known good cylinder , sprayed ether around the intake manifold seal while it was running to check the seal , finally a compression test revealed the cylinder with the misfire had low compression due to the head gasket leaking . if you plan to fix your own car the first thing you should get if you don't have it already is a repair manual and not chiltons ,get something better . if you suspect the injector for that cyl you can see if you can trade it for another cyl

Alpine 7-band EQ! Model # 3214

Alpine 7-band EQ! Model # 3214
b-dubs89 replied to littlehitter's topic in Head Units-Processors and Eq's
what you have is an equalizer/amplifier my guess that the purple green white and grey wires are your speaker output and that the speakers negative might get wired to ground if there aren't any wires for speakers negative . due to it's age i would expect the power output to be less than your jvc hu . your problem with your hu putting out too much bass and distorting your speakers , i would try turning down the bass first if you have the loudness on , turn it off , or maybe you are due to upgrade these speakers , the eq/amp might help just from having lower wattage , you could cut the lows on the eq as well .might just be fun to play around with a piece of vintage equipment -
hate to say but it's true can't trust very many people . i live in small town and stuff gets broken into all the time . i see vehicles with rear window or one of the little windows broken on a weekly basis . my solution is keep to myself mostly , take out full coverage on my vehicle and my gear for me it's $35 more a month to have full coverage over liability .

i see , here's a thought , maybe you would only need build up certain strategics places at this point , say towards the middle more than the edges . sounds like your box should be pretty strong already . i guess if it were me and i had any doubt i would rather be over built than under built

i agree , double up on the wood . go take a look at the hardware store see what they got , steel pipe with flanges that you can screw or bolt is what comes to mind and if they don't have a length you like a plumbing shop can cut and rethead them
