I'm also in for an update man. Glad to hear your going to clamp them Still need to do some reading and figure out how the hell to do this correctly. I probably should get my install done since I need it hooked up to clamp lol. I figure my results should be solid though my electrical in theory will be very solid for 2600w. Im guessing by your sig that you have some way to tell when it clips.DD-1 / Oscope. I read a whole writeup on clamping but I dont have a dd1 or Oscope. I am definitely ordering a DD-1 when I start buying equipment this time around.

Oh yea I'm gutting the 4gauge out soon. Ordering a new battery too. I have a little Kinetik HC600(stock batt also) that was perfect with the BRZ1200 but wont cut it once I go bigger. I will be getting a new batt under hood..and another batt in the back. Maybe a used XS from here or a Kinetik or new XS online. I'll probably go with some Trystar 1/0 for all my wiring. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-0-WELDING-CABLE-50ft-coil-MADE-IN-USA-/300725230334?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item46049edafe About 3$ a foot and I've ordered it before for a friends car. It has a second sleeve that makes stripping easy. Yea I agree with you on the headroom which is why I was thinking the BC2K and I'm thinking I might look for some used amps in the 1.5-2K range. I dont have alot as far as electrical though....No HO alt so I can make up for it in some batteries but I'm hesitant on 2.5K

300rms but I'm sure can handle more like 500wrms as long as its clean. Thats why I'm considering a BC2000 or maybe another Soundstream amp. Im really open to just about anything just kinda dig that brushed blue the soundstream is and how cool the crecendos look....But the amp probably wont be visible so I would be the only one to see it anyway haha.

Awesome I'm in for an update.

No one? Does anyone know if they do rated?

I didnt quote you?? LOL But the guy who complained it shouldnt be getting that hot on his 1200watts. You could put a 1000wrms sub on 1200watts thats clipped and have it get hot or 600wrms sub on 1200+ clean watts and be fine. Its all about the clean power lolz Even if you went to Sundown or AQ if you clip em they will get hot.

IMO I would just weld it grind it smooth and paint it too look like you never touched it. What they dont know or cant see wont hurt em.

Looking for a new amplifier for my new build. I'm thinking about 2-3 ssa DCON 4ohmSVC 15's. I'm looking for a new amp that would be good for those 2 or 3 wired to 2ohm or 1.34ohm and than eventually when I get 4 total I could wire to 1ohm. I am thinking about the soundstrem Rubicon 1600 but havent really heard anything about it. I've seen the 2500's used on here. Im just wondering opinions on the Soundstream stuff and open to suggestions for any other amp you think would be good for running the 2 DCONS than stepping to 4 eventually. Im open to more power if you guys think they could handle it. I was also thinking about the Crecendo BC2000. I cant afford a HO alt nor does anyone reputable make one for my truck....but I can afford a good sized XS or Kinetik battery. I know its not high power huge output like some of the stuff on here but any help is appreciated.

In an email from Sundown I was told they tested the SA to the point that smoke was coming off the sub and coming out the box. The voicecoil still checked out fine and OHM reading was identical. Just because you get em a lil hot or there is some discoloration doenst mean they are blown instantly. Maybe you were clipping the shit outta it.....

10" Boston Rally Series (blown) Recone???
Chris Hammer replied to fosgatefan821's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Not worth it IMHO. Would be better off buying new stuff. -
I want to see a gut shot. Doesnt it have 4 gauge inputs not 2 gauge like the BRZ 1700. The sides look identical almost to a BRZ 1200. I wonder what differences there really are on the inside. Is it CEA compliant like the BRZ line...I know it doesnt mean alot for actual numbers but part of me feels like they put a MB Quart case on a BRZ amp upped the rating a little and called it good. Kinda like how they have Autotek and Crunch under the Maxxsonics name...and that Mean Machine is 4000 with 4 gauge inputs. and the side of the board has two 70amp fuses identical to the brz1200 In fact a quick look at Sonic electronics the sides of the MB quart 1500 BRZ1200 and MM4000 all have the same number and look identical. But they could still use different components inside right?

Yea I am not sure if I would trust myself soldering in that amp lol. Wires = no problem Tight little places with dmageable components = No bueno send that puppy in hahah.

Wooot Finally got a job
Chris Hammer replied to RooTxBeeR's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
I used to work there. I worked in the kitchen use to run that whole thing by myself sometimes. I hated it but was money. We had the worst managers though. -
Could you fix it by soldering in new mosfets?

Dap Weldwood landau top adhesive or something exactly like it
Chris Hammer replied to HunterJohnson's topic in Want To Buy
Drive over to Nevada and buy a crap ton of it at the first home depot or lowes you come across... I do that when I need stains or other wood finishing products that california ha "banned" this state is Ass backwards as hell. -
What's good wire?
Chris Hammer replied to liftedz71withbass's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
It depends on the wwelding cable. I'm not sure what brand but the knu is thicker and has a higher strand count so its more flexible. How tight is the install and that could help you decide. Look up coppercableman on ebay. He has Trystar cable thats welding cable but it has an inner sheath that makes stripping clean way easier. I have used about 50ft before on friends installs and its plenty flexible. -
Yea I was being a smart ass about the stick on ones...but the way that hood sits I wouldnt be surprised to see em on that pic you posted. I like it when people take the time to put the real vents in and do a good job. The grille looks ok I guess...I think it looks kinda cheap..is that a legitimant Rover grille or an aftermarket rover grille? But hey if its your cup of tea...It's wyour vehicle and your the only one who has to like it....Everyone else opinion is just that..and opinion. Its not our wallet not our truck no our build. Honestly there are few lowered trucks I like. But when I do like them it makes me want to do mine. But I hate the lambo door thing or vertical lift door....and rims that are just too big.

Maybe he had a prefab either way....if the gains are not set right...they will blew Blow? Yea he could be clipping them. I would put money on it that amp does not make 1700wrms.... It has less fusing than a BRZ1200. 120 amps of fusing 14.4 volts 100% efficiency = 1728 but thats not feasible. But even so...1000w the pair clipped could burn up the subs...so you are right.
