Sooo.. I got a gift and it's here
Tim Lam replied to shogen's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
so if i got this exact alternator for me 2.4l camry, i would have to make adjustments to raise my engine rpms for the alternator to charge at the ~14volts? thus losing mpg's just to have a better alternator? -

Two Alpine Type-S 12's on a mono block.
Tim Lam replied to Tega18's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
well since youre getting two 4ohm DVC subs, your going to need to look for amps that are ~1000watts at 1ohm (or 4, but thats just ridiculous lol). well for 1000rms you dont even need to come close to $500 lol. um if you want to save some money, Hifonics amps are decent. now if you want to run those things with an alpine amp, you're going to need to get 2 2ohm dvc subs, which is what i had running off a Alpine MRP-M1000 (2 Type R's) and they were throat throbbing loud. if you havent gotten the subs yet, i'd suggest to you (for the sake of what you have given us) 2 Type S 12's 2ohm DVC with an Alpine MRX-M1000 or MRX-M110. -
Sundown X-12 Prototype

They will be more expensive than a LVL-3 for sure. They will not be at all like the prototypes I did in 2010. i very much appreciate your honesty, thank you. i'll probably wait till these come out, SOON i hope haha, and see how they perform on the kind of power i have. What kind of power are you working with? crescendo bc2000d -

what do i need for this .5 ohms?
Tim Lam replied to Tim Lam's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring

so i was originally planning on running to SA12s on a crescendo bc2000d at 1 ohm. but saw some sick nasty videos of people tearing their cars up at .5 ohms. so i am currently planning to get a diehard platinum under the hood and have a kinetik hc1800 in the trunk with big three done in 0awg. what more would i need to run that crescendo at .5 ohms? do i even have enough for 1 ohm?
