nosho47 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Share Posted February 22, 2011 I will be running 7k watts in my s10... For my electrical, I have a mechman 270amp alternator with two xs power d3100 batteries. I am thinking about getting one more sundown saz-3000 so total would be 10k watts. If I buy two more d3100's, will the alternator will be able to handle or would you guys recommend another alternator? This truck is only a weekender. What are your opinions? THEKINGsBACK Posted February 22, 2011 Report Share Posted February 22, 2011 it takes power to make power... 10k is alot on a single alt. i say get another 270...and another 3100 he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. Remove the AC compressor and you have a perfect spot for another alt. I cant remember if you need a bracket for that or not. Or the other option is to make one go off to the passenger side with the stock one and move your AC lines to fit around the additional alt.
