Which is 400+ amps. Stock alt of any car will stuggle like shit keeping up with that. Stock alt and 2 batts and youll drop in high 11's in no time. Fuckin get a H/O alt, good front battey, and at the least, 2 3100's in the back. Not to mention the big 3, and at least 1+ and 1- run from the front in 1/0. And yes, go ahead, Do it with stock electrical. But im going to laugh my ass off when you kill it due to low voltage. 2006 Nissan Z Track. Ratski Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 old post to dig up but im kinda curious if my setup is going to be suffiecient. so i have a wet cell front batt, did the big three, have a 1/0 run thru a batt isolator to 2- dekka a934m batts for a single 15" hdc-3 copper @ 1 ohm. ( i have the 3500 for future upgrade to 2- 15s) i plan on getting the h/o alt but am more curious how long i can run without an ho alt. this is for a daily music rig.

slowfkncar Posted June 27, 2013 Report Posted June 27, 2013 I am currently using the dual input aq3500.1,the manual recommends a 400a fuse. I will say it now,I have a 220a alt and two 114ah batteries. Big 3(double everything) big 6 lol and 2 runs each of 0gua gnd & pwr to the rear. Full tilt can drop my voltage from 14.1 - 13.3 volts. I am still not getting the full potential out of this amp and I feel it is a total waste of money without the proper electrical. Not to mention,an amplifier will clip sooner on lower voltage. Your install may work,but it may or may not be louder then the other car with two batteries and a stock alt on an even smaller amp.
