Ray Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Then sounds like your good to go. If he is that good then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Make sure to budget 5-8k towards advertising in the beginning. You will need it to get the word out. The at least 6months of rent and bills in the bank 1year of both of your salaries in the bank 10k min for product and some sort of displays At least a 250k insur policy Hopefully one of you have good credit, you should start out with 75k or SO. That will let you run for a year. Don't take credit cards for at least two years. Buy everything cod, or check ...trust me. Sign only with distributors, buy big when you buy so you get the best discount. Ask for deals and specials anytime you order. Don't order dumb shit that you will just sit on. Just order 1 of the higher end stuff. Most sales will be low end product, higher end sales can be sched for appt, and pay 1/2 down, then you order the product needed. Only pay 3%for cc trans Good luck 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz
dsktim Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 If you are looking for a full all out Shop i would say 8,000 for a slow start,15,000-25,000 if you want to be able to have a shop with tools and stock to sell. most companies have a buy in price and requirement's like 2 years in the business with a opened store front things like that. I agree its nice to have product with a known name behind them but those companies will be harder to open a account with vs a small sub/amp company that is young and trying to grow and are more likely to take a chance on a brand new shop Only DC Dealer In Alaska

toadking90 Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 i am not trying to down you for it i am just giving my two cents since you asked. a local shop in my area is ran by one guy. there used to be more but they had to be let go since they blew the big one. long story short. he loves his job but in todays world car audio is not the only thing you will be doing. maybe 5 cars out of 20 will be installing audio. everything else will be alarms remote starts and thats only 12 of the 20 the other 8 are people saying whats wrong with this. whats wrong with that... you will spend lots of time trying to fix somebody's mistake. with just you two you will work 6 days a week 9-WHATEVER IT TAKES. maybe even coming in early. the best thing to do if you decide to do that is to call some local car lots. tell them you can install any alarms and stuff for their customers at a lower price than the rest. assuming you will be doing that stuff. just an idea and my thought i had to offer.

For sure. no one knows everything but he knows a considerably large amount if u know more than him youve done a great fucking job learning this stuff but he knows more than the majority of people interested in car audio
