Well, enclosure is going to play a bigger role than the sub. But both subs would be great daily systems. I meter just to know the performance and efficiency of my set ups, but I've never competed and never plan on it.

On that power a mayhem or btl might be worth a look

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

DC has been real good to me, so another brand will be hard to do. But I am looking into those others as well, not just DC and T3. We'll see.

TeamHT: I would probably meter just to see where it is, but like you I don't plan on competing.

Incriminator Audio Death Penalty's has good capabilities for getting loud and doing it while being musical, I know they take can take a clean 3K daily without problems.

I went a step ahead though and bought a Warden :pardon:

2011 Ford Ranger Sport 4.0 v6

2 sundown audio prototype nsv4 15s

crossfire 4k wired to 0.4 ohm

15 banks of maxwell 3.0 caps @ 18v

I just have never used any thing like that, so I wanted to be sure. So maybe a pair of 2k's on a single 12 is in my future. 150 on music from a 12 would be sweet.

See, this is the problem with waiting on equipment, I keep changing my mind with what I want to do.

it would be, but it wont happen. some people might say im crazy but i would honestly stick with the XL for that power. unless you plan on running at .5ohm or something. ive seen the power it takes to get a level 5 real loud, and ive had xl's to play with for a long time now. a 12" XL will take 4k in a 1.5-2^ft box.

A 4" coil in the TSNS would handle the 150 road better than a 3" coil for sure, especially in a 12 vs.12 situation

remember that a 4" coil is heavier and needs more power to move. plus all the world records have been done with 3" coils.

True but on a daily setup, there is more range in the music frequencies than just a one hit wonder for world records. 4-5k on a 4" is plenty power I would think

Not always true. My TSNS did pretty good with no break in period and each one was running off a "2000 watt" Interfire amp (last minute change just to be able to run something)

not saying they are bad. but "2000w" on a 4" coil vs a 3" coil, if everything else could be the same, what do you think would be louder?
