David12460
I have a 2003 2-Door Blazer and I am in need of a new enclosure. I will be powering a 15" DC level 5 with an AQ2200D. Can someone with some design and tuning skills give me a hand with the design? I know only the basics when it comes to designing a enclosure. I am shooting for 3.75 cubes at 32-34 hz. The room I have to work with is 24" deep, 11" tall and 49" wide. Thanks!
iKidwell
if you haven't already bought the level 5 i'd suggest and xl on that power. c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress

David12460
I already have the LVL 5. What is wrong with the power I will give it?
dwright27
nothing is wrong, the XL is ust more efficient with anything under 3K. id do 5 cubes or a hair bigger, with 100 square inches of port tuned around 35. 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. David12460
Well I got the LVL 5 locally BNIB for a good deal. I figured I could beat the hell out of it with the AQ2200D daily. Down the road I can increase the power. Help me understand why 5 cubes would be more beneficial than the 3.75 cubes DC recommends. I am basically looking for something that has good SQ and can pound when I want it to.
iKidwell
The 5 cubes is going to be better than 3.75 cubes because when underpowering the sub you want more room to make up for efficiency c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress

Bigger boxes are more efficient (when ported) I wouldn't classify this as an SQ sub. Will it have the ABILITY to sound good on music though? Yes I agree with you 100% that this sub is not a true SQ subwoofer. Having a bigger enclosure makes more sense given the power I am giving the subwoofer.
