Enclosure help for a 15" DC LVL 5

Recommended Posts

id do 35 hz to keep a good "range" so to speak and still play low.

5 cubes will be more efficient with the power you will be feeding it. if you was doing 4000 RMS + i would say 3 - 3.5 cubes, but youre not.

Okay, Can I get a bit of help with the same dimensions listed above? I need the sub and port facing upwards. If I point the port towards the back I think It will be too close to the rear door and the targeted frequency will be off.

I'm running rough numbers in the box calculator that most people use on here. I have read a that 12-16 square inches of port area is ideal. Does this hold true to me? dwright27 recommended 100 sq inches of port area.

Can someone help me understand the importance of port area? Why might more or less port area be better than the other with the same tuned frequency.

You want lots of port area because that sub is gonna move a fuckton of air. Go over 16 and do 17-20 in per cube.

c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.

Ok so in Torres box Calculator I have the folling inputs entered:

Box Dimensions

Height: 11"

Width: 45"

Depth 1: 22"

Port Dimensions

Height: 9"

Width: 6"

Length:40"

Woofer Displacment: .24"

# of common port walls 1"

Can someone double check these numbers? I want to make sure I am getting this right.

I am a socal builder/designer so let me know what you think about this. I went off your dimensions that you posted at the very end. I looked at your numbers and corrected a few things.

Box Dimensions

Height - 11"

width - 45"

depth - 22"

Port Dimensions

Height - 9.5"

width - 5.5"

length - 26"

sub displacement - .24cuft

# common port walls - 3

Box stats

volume after displacement - 3.68cu.ft

tuning Hz - 33.19hz

I would build this box for sure. i know for a fact this box will slam.

any input would be appreciated.
