What oil do you put in your vehicle?

bottom line use whatever you want its all personal preference on brand names basicly if you use royal or castrol whatever you like as long as its done on or before 3000 miles on normal oil. ive never used any additives or known any body hurt the motor from not using them. the same thing with oil filters fram makes 3 different kinds reg tg and something else. basicly do you really need the best does your car benefit from it?

I stopped using fram after I saw a thread on here a while back, I think it was something about a fram worker had leaked out info about bad filters and there were a ton of problems with alot of them and the quality over the past few years has gone way down, something along those lines.It was at least a year ago.

on another note all you purp lovers I have a friend who swears by that stuff. I would probably use it too if I havent been using mobil 1 forever.

I've been running Royal Purple for a few years now in my Caprice, and its been the best oil I've ever used. Usually I run a Wix filter too. Several of my friends work at auto shops and stores and they've told me horrible things about Fram filters. I don't remember the whole story but pretty much the cardboard they use in some of their filters breaks down quickly and can cause some problems.

I used quake stake oil and don't have much problem. Stay away from Fram filter..

I use whatever synthetic oil is on sale at the parts store. If there isn't a sale I use the walmart synthetic. Change it about every 5k (3k in winter)

My dad and I have both used Quaker State high mileage in our last three trucks. One died at 300k(after he sold it at 265k, so who knows what the other people did to it), his current one is at 250k(no engine or tranny work at all), and mine is a 145k currently(again, no engine or tranny work at all)...always used Fram filters, and have never had an issue. Just change your oil every 3k and you'll never have a problem.

AMSOIL SSO is baller status btw, like $12 a quart.

The wife's Crossfire calls for 0w-40, which I can only find in Mobile 1 which = too expensive. On top of that the little 6 cylinder engine requires 8.5 quarts.

I've been running quaker synt. And past year since I've used it. Its always running a quart or 2 low. So I stopped using syn. And regular hi mileage and I no longer run low. Hmmmm and I don't know y
