Ed Explains Trippi's Hummer

Recommended Posts

Well since trip doesn't care what it meters then all that matters is how it sounds. When are people gonna move on?

I hate seeing everyone up in arms over this, if Trippi is happy, does it matter? I like everyone on this thread and have nothing bad to say about ANYONE here... Know what, he still is louder than me... <_<

But... hopefully I will be parking next to you at future shows with Kong! (8 18's) :santa::popcorn::drink40:

ed do you have vid of the hummer without the cut from the meter to the laptop?

I have tons of video footage from that day.

And about 5 witnesses.

The fact is though, i dont have to prove anything.

I take SPL numbers seriously, honestly, and professionally as I have roles of a journalist, industry insider, and competitor with an upstanding record.

If there is ever anybody you can take their word as gold, it's me.

My favorite line from Superman is when he says "I never lie"

Well that and

Lois - "Who are you?"

Superman- "A friend."

If my honesty is brought into question, the hummer will be at a show next week I believe, ask Ric to meter it.

no need to take offense. i was just curious because i wanted to show someone else and i already knew theyd ask what i did. i figured id cut out the middle man

No problem.

I just have an honest mind set and dont always think about things like that.

I do like that things were cleared up. I also have never made one comment about any of the Trippi builds, but I was watching.

I will admit that I was a little disappointed hearing about a 153.x through the grapevine, but I never thought of it as a poor install. I could never/ will never create a beast such as this. It's amazing even if it didn't break a 150. (hypothetically*)

Now, i dont know all of what drama went down, and i dont really care.

Nowadays the only thing anybody gives a shit about is scores. Who did what, Tommy McKinnie > Steve Meade, it didnt do what youre saying, etc. It's all a bunch of shit because nobody looks at anything but TL scores six inches blah blah dash sealed whatever.

It took me a long time to break away from this and finally start building for myself. I don't care about the scores any more and the only thing I use my TL for is to measure peaks.

Ed, you're a good man. I've spoken with you on here and other places, and I'm sure you wouldn't just make up numbers. I will not state my opinions on anything else.

The build is sick as hell, Trippi is happy, and I'm happy I got to watch it.

Need an install? Hit me up.

Last year I did the Hummer build with amps on roof.

Truck wasnt strong enough to hold up to flex. Doors werent loud enough for Trippi.

Re-build was done by Pulse car Audio with a wall, new doors, new dash.

The dash just got done, then I put in TSNS.

Trippi took it to SBN with the TSNS. people were surprised and had mixed feelings about that. I explained why we did it.

there were some technical difficulties, i explained that. It was all fixed saturday for the show.

There was some bashing about a low SPL number that was not accurate to begin with. So I posted my SPL number that was measured in a more controlled manner.
