mr.p Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 Best i got sealed up on the dash is a 151.9db, clamping 3000W RMS actualy power to the subs, amp sitting at 9v and drawing 390A...i have about 3x rise which is ALOT more than i expected and will put a kink in things, also the voltage was a serious letdown stock alt and one underhood battery FTL. This was a single powerbass 4k at .3 ohms. And yes it was at 9.0V and the stinger voltmeter would stop displaying voltage LOL. Amps are deffinately solid tho Even played a lil 9v music Didnt really get to meter doors open or anything, but i just wanted a baseline. I did have it at low volume and close the drivers door and it jumped like 4db! So i just burped sealed up. I will get more meter time when the 12k gets here or atleast when i get some batteries and a nice alternator for whatever poor amp goes in here.... BIG PROBLEM' Subs still arent moving and they didnt even get hot after 10-15 minutes of screwing around on the TL. I see a 54 atleast possibly a 55 if i run the 12k at .3 anymore than that and i will need XL's and possibly bracing my interior more. DCAUDIO BALLS DEEP

mr.p Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 SO TODAYS consensus is my port is way the F%#@!!! too big even with the seat in, the seat does not seal up against the port enough to overcome the giganticness, and im running 4 15s sealed.... lots of work to move the port now sooo....not sure what to do. mr.p Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 I am considering that over cutting the glassing i did out, its not glassed in very much but enough to make it a M%$#@@@$$$ to cut loose.... I am most likely going to screw 2x4's to the drivers side to shrink it...i need to get back out to reno and borrow the TL for a solid day when i do this tho. If it gets me the missing 2db (yes i said 2) then i will cut loose the tube and make it right. mr.p Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 Got something in store SO, a couple of things to add actually, dont use sonotubes...the cardboard is not very strong or thick!!! ALSO the inside is coated in wax and NO resin will stick.... On the other hand they have cardboard tubes that are closer to 5/8" thick and all cardboard they use them for paper at big paper type places, i just so happen to have both a 10" and 12" and it is F%#$# solid, plus i can glass the inside ALSO! I am going to shrink the port and go with the 10" all in one time. I need a week with a TL to get this done, so im looking to either rent, or buy one next week. DCAUDIO BALLS DEEP
