n8ball2013
If you are trying to accomplish a smooth finish on mdf you need to seal it. be it resin or filler or something. otherwise it will soak up paint. If you have an edge that was cut you will never be able to stop it from soaking up and be able to get a smooth finish. did you even look at the link Quote THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger. Tek
not to thread jack- but if you are going to use bed liner to paint it with, do you still have to prime or resin it?
xterraboy03
not to thread jack- but if you are going to use bed liner to paint it with, do you still have to prime or resin it? I never have, I just sanded the box to make sure all my edges were smooth and the flat surfaces had some sand time to ensure a good hold. I just layer up on the coats on the edges, you can still see an edge where it soaked up a little bit more, but if you're doing bed liner it doesn't have to be perfect. I was just trying to give a couple other options to people that have never resin'd or didn't want or have the time to.
