Skullz
Swap front tires to back and take it for a ride and see if that helps or eliminates it. Quote 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

jconnway
my wheel shakes over 60.,, everyone has told me its the alignment, but even after getting re-aligned, the problem returns. I'm looking into dropping the car and replacing the sway bars and some other suspension components so maybe those things will help... i've had the wheels balanced and aligned at least 3 times. (i obviously only paid the one time and kept going back) Quote Full Pioneer Build 4 Per Door - Front Door Build Up
Dan2427
Check your tires, make sure there wearing even. If its 4 wheel drive check the CV shafts, and as mentioned ball joints, and make sure the wheel weights are all there, also check the tie rod ends both inner and outer, not likely but check the wheel bearings. If that doesnt work make sure your wheel isnt bent. I had a shaking problem from 60-65 and I replaced all 4 tire rod ends, wheel bearings, ball joints, etc. turns out the wheel was very slightly bent. dyeagain15
Wheel balance, wheel balance, wheel balance. Do you feel it in the steering wheel? If you do its front tires. if its your seats, its rear tires. Alignment does not cause a vibration (unless it's way out of spec). Look at the tires. Abnormal wear is an alignment. Choppy tread blocks (cupping) is wheel balance. Alignments can cause a shimmy in the steering wheel. If so then its an alignment. I'd say start with a balance because its cheaper, then if that dont fix it do the alignment.
