As far as the racist thing, from what I understand is that it matters that YOU feel harassed, just like sexual harassment.

So you can take it to the authorities where they would do an investigation. But it may not be worth it unless it was a lost promotion or raise because of your race, or that you got fired or not hired because of your race.

And, unfortunately with a harassment suit in your record (even you filing the complaint) Could be a deterrent for future employers even though it shouldnt be.

It's called harassment and is against the law regardless of where you live. Seek an attorney for advice on what agencies can help with the problem, suing is a last resort but i would seek one out for some advice none the less hoping they can point to where you can get help.

Sounds like the type of shit that goes on at alot of jobs as far as the manager sucking. As far as the racists stuff that's not cool. I personally don't care about racist jokes or terms w.e but that doesn't mean I'm not insensitive to my brothas and sistas that don't wanna hear that stuff. Some people can brush it off I guess. sorry for no responses as i was in class but i have read every single one. but no i havent confronted him as i havent found a good time when hes not doing things. this is a great idea though, i will try to do it when the time comes and we'll see what happens.

I have $0.02 to put in here. Stang hit the nail on the head. If you have mutiple co-workers who feel the same way, a group meeting the guy is the best idea. Don't wait for "a good time" to come up, schedule a meeting. If you have contact with anyone over him. I would advise them what is going on and what you are planing. Just to give them a heads up and how they feel about it. Your previous post made it seem the owners are OK and treat you right.

For said meeting; 1) be prepared- talk to everyone the day or in a short time before the meet, 2) keep a level head and keep cool no matter what, tell everyone else to do likewise. 3) If it escalates to the point you wont be abel to keep you coo, end the meeting. Then when meeting is done. Contact the Uppers again and inform them of what all came of it. This is where you look like a replacement for said doushe, or where he gets lined out. Either way, things have an avenue to become better.

Edit: for everyone saying call OSHA, a company has to have,IIRC, 50 or more employees before they must become OSHA compiant. If the ownershp has multiple locations totaling 50 or more workers, then that would be a considerable idea.
