TeamHT Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 yeah, i can see what youre saying and not disagreeing totally. just saying talent isnt everything. the music that resonates with us is what makes something great. i mean, i know many talented, VERY talented musicians whos creative work doesnt work for me. i know some people who can drum Rev's drum solos on point but not good enough to be an actual artist. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Decaf Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 bunch of close-minded people. in every genre this argument happens. even in country music people complain how some lyrics are watered down whinny crap (which is true). if its got a nice guitar twang in the back and a sweet fiddle solo to accompany the lame lyrics most simply look past it. its music guys... simple as that. its melodic, catchy and hard to swallow at times but its not "Life lessons with Gucci 101." people stereotype me all the time, never expect what they see when they see me in person... this suburban ass white boy knows u dont need to support the lyrics to enjoy the music

I don't think anyone is close-minded, quite the opposite. Of course Gucci was never a true lyricist, it has definitely reached an all time low, simply becoming exactly what is wrong with most mainstream music.
