DannyTuttle Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 I have 3 Boss CW125 DVC 12's they have a rms at 1k each with a peak of 2k. They are also 4 ohm subs. I had a power acoustik Bamf 4000/1D hooked up @ 2 ohms to them but it recently got stolen out of my car and am in need of a new amp. The 5500 of that series costs $270 on amazon.com, but i dont know if i want to go that route again. Any suggestions?

TeamHT Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 I'm sorry, but that amp even if wired at 1 ohm, 16 volts, on its best day will never see 5,000. That's the problem with max rated products, and the reason it only costs $270 where other 5,000 RMS amps will run anywhere from $800-$1,400. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Max ratings are bull and inconceivable for any setup, sorry. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Supercharged DCs Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Why do you need 5000w when the Bosses will only take about 1500 all together... Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.
