"JL is a good brand. they have been one of the leading innovators of the industry. if it wasn't for JL there would be no ascendant. look into the history of the company. im not saying its the best product in the world. i know of better amps, Audison and McIntosh, and the SMD is a great woofer. but the W7 isnt a piece of shit. its still a very good product. i know from years of experience. ive been in the game since i was 14, ive seen a lot over my 18years in car audio. also be carefull wjat you read in the diyma forum. that forum is known for haveing smaller manufactures pump their own product. to them its cheap advertising. thats why you see a ton of smaller brands in the forums but in the real world JL is 90%, and for good reason. fi's are great but the're not the best, im sorry but i would never put a Fi woofer in my car. just my thoughts tho" So is this true? Scott Atwell who started Fi AA has been around for many years and has done more than just RE in the past. He's a smart businessman as well as designer. If you give the same kind of budget they have to Fi or DC, the product would obviously get more popular. My friend has two 10W7s and they sound pretty good in his mustang, then my other friend has two DD 3510s in the back of his truck and he does hair tricks. I guess its mostly the general public going to audio shops and asking for the best woofer, and most shops carry JL.
