i wouldnt pay for the crossover if you are able to go active 3 way. also they like a decent amount of power to them so dont pussyfoot around with 100 per side

OK I guess I'll have to go do my research before I finish posting....

Those are some nice speakers, just got off the website.

You may want to think of where you are going to mount those things, looks like a custom build for sure and if you are going to jump into the SQ ring better get ready to buy a processor to grab a hold of the controlling of the crossover points, slopes and of course frequencies. It was fun playing with the new processor we put into Alpine's civic last weekend but, we shall see how that bitch scores for SQ.

Actually I just posted up a PXA-H510 processor for sale on CL. It is a nice piece to start with but, there are a lot of others out there.

in all honesty listen to them for yourself, because no matter what a SQ judge tells you, if you dont like them it doesnt matter what they say.

I dont compete in sq because i dont care what others think about my music. i have nothing wrong with what they do over there but i'll argue until the cows come home about it being subjective as all hell.

Buying really nice speakers doesnt always have to be about "finesse"..

I have yet to hear another set that can stay linear at these volumes.

I like that I can beat the crap out of them, and they stay clean all the way up

SQ is a bit subjective no doubt.

I agree with James 100% about make sure you enjoy them first more than anything else.

Ray's got a good point too about constructive quality and sound quality. I guess the point would be that whats the point of buying a $1000 set up if they are going to smoke under some real power.

what I go by, I bet 3/4 of the people here would say their system is better than mine is, but for me it's pretty decent. I mean I am never happy but this one comes close
