huh?do-what?
put some plexiglass over the amps so they arent actually getting in the way of the port airflow. Mount some cooling fans under the plexi. Hell, go a step further and tint the plexiglass so you cant see the amps when you first look at it. Until you turn on the switch for the lights under the glass, then the amps show up. Just a thought. God damn its hot today. My balls are stuck to my leg. AlexBryson
Yeeeeeeaaaaaa no. I dont put my amps on the boxes anymore because i've blew apart a Kicker zx300.1, a memphis pr 500.1 and a dd 600.2 (i dont remember the model exactly). All of them suffered from having their guts torn apart by the subs and frying themselves. All the amps were brand new and only lasted a month or two on the box. So i say nooooooooo. 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS

SGTSKIP
I like the idea, and I congradulate you on Asking 1st, If you build your box SOLID as hell and use 1/4 in rubber spacers to help fight off the vibes might be a cool project, add some led lights to highlight the install. Give it a shot, now you have oppinions and advice..... Do Work young Man Steven Does this smell funny to you? Its your sister
raolito1980
hmm did anyone use rubber gaskets to reduce the vibrations? No I didnt use any rubber gasket or anything. It was tightly screwed to the box on some wood mounts. From what happen to this amp a couple days ago. i would never mount another to the enclosure again. 2012 GMC SIerra CC System Build Headunit--Stock Sub Amp--DC 2.0k Subs--2-SA8v2's Enclosure--Need one made!! Louisiana Bass
Rubber gaskets do help, but only if your box is still pretty well-braced. If the whole front panel is flexing, gaskets won't help. AlexBryson
I would say dont do it. My Memphis got screwed up just by having it mounted behind my enclosure. Damn vibration broke a resistor loose and ended up frying some other resistors by the rca inputs. This next pic is the fried resistors. I guess it happened because the first one broke loose?!?! Oh and this is where the resistor broke loose from. Kinda looks like what happened to mine 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS
BTL FTW
The build starts the first week of july, the plans call for the port to be 3 inch thick birch or MDF, I'll be mounting the amps inside the port as planned but with rubber gaskets and a soft layer of foam compressed between the amp and port wall. All that's left is to plan how to wire it pretty amps will be 2 DD M4a's Alpine F1 Status DD CS6.5 x2 Front Stage DD 9512H DD M4a @ 2 ohm DD S2b @ 8 ohm per channel I run high ohn loads for MASSIVE headroom and cleaner SQ 270amp alt D2400 up front D3100 x2 batter in back

Kinda looks like what happened to mine I'm need to find the replacement parts, but first I need find the resistance of the 2 resistors that burnt out. Amp still works just doesnt have full potential.
