Supercharged DCs
Dustin, the guy with the guy with the 8 3512s on 8 DDM2As is from Mississippi, not Louisiana. Wish he was though, so I could get a demo. He has switched his build to 9 9515s on 2 M2As at .5ohm strapped for each subwoofer, and he said it's louder now then with the 3512s. He had the 4 9500s first lol Shit, just realized I put 9 instead of 4. Big fuck up right there lol. And yeah I know he did, he went back to the 9515s. Last I heard from him, it was doing high 59s IIRC. Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012. Ray
sorry its not a wall..... BUT... 8 12's on 8k rms did a 55.3 legal sealed @ 32 58.0 @ 30 opened. This was back in 2004. Woofer size is a mute point. I brought it up because woofer positioning on his wall, will become an issue in order to get enough vent area. Using smaller subs will let him move them around, so he can get enough port area. BTW, anyone know of another blow-thru with around 8-10k that can do that # down low? Eric, box is the MOST important factor in doing a build with cramped space. You need to do very detailed measurements, then run thru each setup, ie: 18's, 15's, 12's, 10's. See what fits best with the correct vol, and vent area. Or just slap whatever you can on the wall, and be stuck with a crappy score like so many others.. More is not always better. Thought you would have learned that by now. 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz
Ray
There is over 1k difference between the runner up sub and those James recommends. All of the above choices will get loud but there are clear lines of demarcation in cost. I looked up the cone area's of the installs. 8 12's = 902 (not sure the cost for these james can you give an approximate figure per sub?) 6 15's = 1060 (cost per sub 300-700 so 1800 to 4200) (recones 100 to 150 or more with the dd) 4 18's = 1017 (cost per sub 300-700 so 1200 to 2100) (recones 100 to 150 or more with the dd) What are some known problems with each setup are? 4 subs to 10k cooling 8 subs phase issues 8 subs compression issues ??? If we could discuss the negatives of each type of install I believe we could narrow the field somewhat and come to a reasonable conclusion. this is james on rays account.... how do you know this? phase issues? you cant even say that without building it and if your having phase issues with them thats install not the fact that you have 8. compression issues? explain this please. 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz
